Aston Car Share launch
The Sustainability Team have teamed up with Faxi to provide staff with a car share network that allows users to search for fellow staff who live near them to set up a car share. You can register as a driver or passenger. It has a mechanism to arrange payment for sharing a car as well as setting up walking, cycling and public transport buddies.

Britain in Bloom Award
Birmingham Receives Gold Award from Royal Horticultural Society
Aston University have been praised for our role in Birmingham achieving the Gold award in the Champion of Champions category of the 2016 Royal Horticultural Society Britain in Bloom competition. Birmingham’s medal, the highest available, confirms its position as arguably the cleanest, greenest and most beautiful large city in Britain.
We want to send a huge thank you The Grounds Team here at Aston for working tirelessly all year round to make our spaces award winning.
Projects/Announcements – CAMPUS
MB2 (CS/ESM) Refurbishment
Where is it? Main Building 2nd Floor
What is happening? Refurbishment of the 2nd floor to create a range of offices, teaching space, meeting rooms, social/kitchen areas, etc. The works will support the growth in academic staff numbers and postdoctoral/postgraduate student numbers.
What is the latest progress? All main works are now complete and the areas have been occupied. Contractors are on site undertaking minor de-snagging works.

SW 2nd Floor Refurbishment
Where is it? South Wing 2nd Floor
What is happening? Refurbishment of the South Wing 2nd floor to create a more open plan environment and improve the aesthetics, efficiency and functionality of the space.
What is the latest progress? The area has been vacated, a main contractor appointed and works commenced on site: 24.10.2016

New Furniture Purchasing Website
This website enables all Aston University staff to purchase furniture directly from the University’s preferred supplier – The Senator Group. All furniture on the website conforms to the University’s standards.
