Dear ______,
As you already know, I am a daily user of the (Name of System), a site developed by Geographic Solutions. Many new enhancements have been made to (Name of System)to increase the amount of labor market data that we are able to provide our customers. Additional enhancements have also been made to help support labor market data requirements that are outlined for our state in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act – many of which will be highlighted at the 2017 Workforce Technology Conference.
This year’s conference agenda will be concentrated heavily with numerous workshops on WIOA service delivery, the new Workforce Information Database (WID) 2.6 structure, new real-time LMI data and reports, and enhanced data mapping capabilities. It would be of benefit to both myself and my agency to learn as much as I can about future systemenhancements. In doing so, I am requesting to be granted approval to register. By allowing me to attend the conference, I feel as though we would be maximizing our investment that our state has made in (Name of System). The conference will also allow me to engage with LMI staff in other states that use the same system and exchange best practices.
The conference will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2017 through Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Monterey Marriott located in Monterey, California. In addition to the regular conference schedule, I also have the option to attend a Pre-Conference Virtual LMI Training session on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.In addition to system training, the Geographic Solutions WID database administrator will be available to consult on data issues. This is really important since the LMI portion of (Name of System) is entirely data driven. Recommended airline bookings can be made in and out of the Monterey Peninsula Airport or the San Jose International Airport.
Here is someadditional information on the conference:
