If you have a hold on your records, because you must complete a graduation plan, then we need to meet and resolve that issue. Scroll down because this is a two page document.

Here are the steps you need to take BEFORE our meeting:

  1. Complete the upper portion of the paper copy of the Graduation Clearance Form (get this from LSBE Advising and Academic Services office in LSBE 111, or get it here: https://lsbe.d.umn.edu/students/current-students/forms ).
  2. Complete the Online Graduation Planner
  3. Go to the online Graduation Planner (https://onestop2.umn.edu/gradplanner/home.jsp). Fill out the online graduation planner completely including ALL courses you are going to take the rest of your time here at UMD.
  4. Check for course prereqs before planning a course. The Graduation Planner does NOT do this for you. Make sure you don't schedule Marketing Research (MKTG3711) in the same semester as Marketing Management Strategy (MKTG 4781), for example. Also, make sure you have all the prereqs completed before taking Strategic Management (MGTS 4481).
  5. While still in Graduation Planner, run an APAS.
  6. Make sure that you have selected your BBA Marketing Program and that the box next to "Include Planned Courses" is checked.
  7. Read the APAS carefully, as it will tell you if you have planned all the courses to graduate. If not, fix your plan and run the APAS again. Do not meet with me until your APAS says “ALL REQUIREMENTS SATISIFIED. SOME PLANNED COURSES USED.”

3. When the APAS shows that all degree requirements are met, then print it off (Printer Friendly Version) by clicking on the icon:

and bring it with you to the advising appointment. I'll review it and sign off on it.

4. If you have trouble using the Graduation Planner view the Tutorial on the Graduation Planner homepage. If you still have questions, talk to the folks in LSBE Advising and Academic Services office in LSBE 111.

Best practices: Bring your laptop with you to the advising session and please have it running, so that if you need to make changes to your Graduation Plan you can do it right then and there.
