JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Custodial Manager

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance and custodial

operations.

2. Associate degree or technical school certification in building and

trades specialty area or equivalent experience.

3. Experience in administrative and supervisory capacity

4. Such other qualifications necessary to meet the requirements of the

position

REPORTS TO: Business Manager

Main Job Duties: Supervise and organize custodial services;

supervise and evaluate custodial personnel.

Essential Functions:

1.  Develop and prepare work schedules and assignments; coordinate duties and

assignments to assure effective operations.

2.  Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff and student

assistants; train custodial personnel in the proper techniques of custodial duties;

assign and review work and participate in custodial and routine maintenance

activities as needed.

3.  Determine, recommend and requisition needed custodial supplies and equipment;

communicate with vendors and other outside organizations to coordinate activities

and obtain assistance.

4.  Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports including employee

timesheets, inventory levels, facilities status and work performed.

5.  Meets with the Business Manager to communicate current developments in each school as they relate to custodial services.

6.  Participates in the development of the budget and financial data in order to maintain prudent utilization of funds which relate to custodial services.

7.  Respond to requests from District personnel and faculty to assist with a variety of

emergency or special custodial and clean-up duties.

8.  Supervise cleaning and care of classrooms, rest rooms, offices, showers, shops and

related facilities in a clean, safe and orderly manner; clean and service custodial

equipment as required.

9.  Assure compliance with local laws and procedures regarding the storage and

disposal of trash, rubbish and waste.

10.  Responds to emergency situations involving school district buildings and grounds in conjuction with responsible administrator.

11.  Conducts onsite inspections of all school buildings and grounds on a regular basis to

determine that high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, safety and security are

maintained.

12.  Keeps informed of the latest technology and products in custodial services and

encourages innovation and experimentation as appropriate.

13.  Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Manager.

Terms of Employment: 12 month/year
