Hello Hockey Families!

Welcome to the Morris Hockey Association Fundraising efforts. The intent of our fundraising is to keep registration costs affordable for all families. Each family is required to participate in two major fundraisers – our calendar raffle and the Co Fair Food stand, and to volunteer at your child’s games and / or tournament games hosted by our association.

We will be asking for two checks per skater at registration for fundraising. Essentially this is our insurance that everyone is making an equal effort for the promotion of this sport for all of our children. Checks will not be cashed if your family participates!

The first deposit check will be for the ‘purchase’ of all of the calendars each player is required to sell. This check will only be held (not cashed) until the drawing—at which time you can either turn in all of your cash sales (your deposit check will be returned in full) or, you may keep whatever cash sales you receive and your deposit check will be cashed on the first business day prior to the drawing.

The second deposit check is to insure your participation in the 2018 County Fair Food stand. This fundraiser will allow a ‘buyout’ which will be used to pay someone else to fulfill your efforts if you choose to not participate. We’d much rather have your time and effort than your money. Participating in this fundraiser includes helping out at the cleaning/ preparation days, actual serving shifts, or cleaning/take down afterward.

The third commitment that is required, is volunteering at your child’s hockey games and/or tournament games hosted by our association. Volunteers are needed to announce the game, run the clock, score book, penalty box, and concession stand. All association teams will have a “team mom” or “team leader” who will organize work shifts for their team. We also will ask support from each of our youth teams at the two or three tournament games that are hosted by our association. These games do not always mean your player is playing in the tournament. In fact, for some of the tournaments hosted by our association, none of our teams play. This type of tournament is strictly a fundraiser for our association and requires all of us to volunteer to fill work shifts. See the work hours sheet for more information.

It is important that all families are making an equal effort to participate in fundraisers and in the daily operations of our youth games and tournaments. If you have questions please call or email me anytime. I look forward to seeing you at registration! Thank you!
