GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the instruction/guidance of the Pastoral Manager and within the overall ethos of the School, undertake and organise care and support to individuals or groups of vulnerable students particularly those pupils who attract FSM6 funding. Provide support to ensure they receive high quality pastoral care throughout their time at APHS in order to overcome personal barriers and raise aspirations
Liaise with teachers, other staff, health and education specialists, parents, visitors, agencies and volunteers to ensure pupils are appropriately supported.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting the student:
1.  To attend to the personal and social needs of students and any other special requirements depending on the nature of a student’s special needs and, wherever possible, making these part of the learning experience.
2.  Under agreed school procedures and in line with statutory guidance on supporting students at school.
3.  Produce and Analyse School behaviour report to present to Pastoral Manager for action
4.  Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour/Support Plans and Personal Care programmes.
5.  Promote inclusion and acceptance of students while encouraging constructive relationships within the classroom and with parents.
6.  Provide Pastoral Administrative Support
7.  Filing (Including all archived documents)
8.  Produce, distribute, mark and record house quiz
9.  Prepare Parents evening to include, Letters to parents, attendees, room lay-out, staff nameplates and Ambassadors
10. Prepare and attend all Vaccination clinics with students, including all consent forms, and administration preparation
11. Support the wearing of the appropriate pupil uniform, Resolve make-up issues, Issue slips accordingly, monitor and sign off all students not following school uniform standard
12. Support School Ambassadors fulfilling their role. Allocate tasks and follow up with recognition of outstanding work
13. Support Bus prefects in their role and report all incidents to PM
14. Collate regular information on Positive and Negative behaviour to HOH / LT
15. Support the Pastoral Manager in general duties with a flexible approach
16. Supervise isolation as required
17. Support all transitions, ensuring records are requested and forwarded
18. Support year 6 and in year transition.
19. Ensure all records/reports are up to date for action by PM
20. Provide a positive and visible approach to students when dealing with all aspects of behaviour
21. Co-ordinate appointments and meetings with parents for PM
22. Mentor students within Pastoral Support
23. Instil rules and expectations on behaviour and uniform
24. Induction of new students and those returning to school
25. Participate in appropriate meetings
26. Organise appointment cards for Pastoral Manager, Counsellors and other agencies
27. Create and manage a positive recognition of good behaviour system, including certificates
28. Co-ordinate feedback forms to and from parents
Support for the School
1.  Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
2.  Be aware of and support difference and ensure all students have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
3.  Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required and participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
4.  Assist with the supervision of students out of lesson times, including before and after school and accompany teaching staff and students on visits, trips and out of School activities as required and take responsibility for a group under the supervision of the teacher.
5.  Undertake other similar duties and activities that fall within the grade and scope of the post, as directed by the Heads of School.

1.  In conjunction with the line manager, take responsibility for personal professional development, keeping up-to-date with developments related to school efficiency, which may lead to improvements in the day-to-day running of the school.
2.  Undertake any necessary professional development as identified in the School Improvement Plan taking full advantage of any relevant training and development available.
