Matters arising from last meeting:
LINCOLNSHIRESHOW Report: Margaret Hawkins attended and took our cakes along to the WI Food Marquee. A busy and successful day – thanks to all those who made cakes for this.
TALK, TEA ANDCAKE – with local author JANE De WYLDE on Life’s Crappy Stuff and her pathway to ‘new normal’. A LSFWI Public Affairs Committee eventto be heldat Bicker V.Hall on Wednesday 21st October. 2-4 p.m. £7/£8 non members. Board circulated and will be again at August meeting.
WI 2016 DIARY £3.80. Last outing for sign-up board.
JOINT CENTENARY CLELEBRATIONS WITH RYHALL WI Thursday 1st October at Ryahll V.Hall. £6. Board to go again at August meeting.
TOLETHORPE VISIT Monday 13th July. Travel arrangements sorted.

CORRESPONDENCE:
Deepings Lunchtime WI invite four of our members to their Harvest Auction & Lunch on Monday 14th September. Two places are still available. Board to go at August meeting.
PRESIDENT’S BUSINESS:
Birthdays: Rosie Nelson 6th August.
BOSTON WOMEN’S REFUGE - Is in urgent need oftoilet rolls, tissues and cleaningitems, tinned meat, longlife fruit juice and milk, pillows and protectors, single and double sheets, boys and girls knickers and vests (baby to age 18). Donations please, to Margaret at home or next meeting.
Margaret gave her personal account of the Royal Garden Party which gave a vibrant picture for us of the special WI day, followed by her very informative account of the AGM at the Albert Hall. We could not have a better delegate! (Full accounts will be in WI Life).
ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
Margaret, President, expressed our deepest sympathy to Jennifer Gralka on the sad death of Hugo. Funeral service to be held at on Friday 17th July at 11 a.m. St Mary’s Church, Stamford.
COMMERCIAL BREAK:
8th August - Songs from West End Musicals’ with Rapport in Carlby Church 7.30 p.m. £10
Flower Arranging Competition in the Church before hand.
Speaker: DOREEN REED entertained us wonderfully with her ‘Verse and Fun’ poems and tales of everyday life. Reminiscing the 50’s and 60’s we could identify with many of them, enjoying a good giggle. Her delivery was gentle, dry, wry and a delight! Margaret Hawkins gave appreciative Vote of Thanks.
Competition – A Limerick entry chosen was from Heather Shead; 2nd a Witham entry.

Margaret, as President, expressed Thanks to: Witham Ladies for hosting the evening and providing delicious refreshments, to our Members Sue Blessett and Linda I’Anson for helping with the teas, to Witham for providing the table flowers and Witham & Carlby for providing the raffle prizes.
