Purpose
The purpose of the Fred Heisel Jr. Grant is to provide financial assistance to deserving males enrolled in institutions of higher learning. Unlike other financial aid programs, the Fred Heisel Jr. Grant is an award to help defray the cost of achieving a secondary education or vocation.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Fred Heisel Jr. Grant, an application must be submitted and the applicant must meet the following guidelines:
- Male High School Senior
- Achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.8 out of 4.0 or higher
- Official Transcript
- Letter of acceptance from an institution of higher learning
- Photo Identification (Preferably High School year book photo)
Awards
The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. will determine recipients of the Fred Heisel Jr. Grant. This decision will be based upon meeting all application qualifications, a one-page essay on "Why Attending College is Important", and an in-depth interview. The interview will explore four key factor areas that include Achievement, Leadership, Scholarship, and Community Service.
Application Deadlines
All applications must be completed in full by March 31, 2018 and returned as indicated on the cover letter.
