Heather Lawver (USA), the daughter of a US Air Force officer, was home-schooled since the first grade, and graduated from high school at the age of twelve. She is now nineteen years old and the president of Prophet, Incorporated, the new parent company of the Daily Prophet. She started the Daily Prophet in 2000. It began with only five columnists, a co-editor, and herself. In 2001, the Daily Prophet took on additional duties as the headquarters for a large fan uprising against Warner Brothers, the copyright and intellectual property owners of Harry Potter. Warner Brothers began sending heavy-handed, threatening legal letters to adolescent Harry Potter fan site owners, demanding the immediate destruction of innocent fan organizations and educational forums. We created the PotterWar campaign (www.potterwar.org.uk), an international boycott of everything related to Harry Potter, save only for the books themselves. After only five months, PotterWar became the first international fan organization to battle a major Hollywood studio over fan rights, and win. The Daily Prophet has continued to grow in recent years.
