Client: ********

Equipment used:

  • KII /EMF meters
  • Ghost Box
  • IR Thermometer
  • Digital cameras
  • Mini DV’s
  • Digital Voice Recorders

Purported Paranormal Claims:

  • Several incidents with scratching as evidenced with photographs.
  • Shadow figure observed in near closet of Master Bedroom.
  • Sounds of footsteps and doors closing,
  • Toys turning on by themselves during the night.
  • Objects tossed, or knocked off from a solid, stationary location.
  • Oldest child sees a cat not observable by others.

Debunked claims:

We tried to debunk each claim, but without success. Nor did we witness the claims except for the toys turning on by themselves, and we did hear a cat meow several times within the house; however, we did not pick this up on the digital voice recorder. There are no cats in the house, or owned by the neighbor residing in the other half of the duplex. Nor are there any none cats in the neighborhood.

The investigators spent an hour trying to debunk the toys activating on their own, but could not. Each of these toys required physical manipulation to activate them. They were not designed to activate at various intervals either.

Children’s Room:

Baseline readings:

  • EMF: 1.0 mG
  • Temp: 75.6 Degrees F

Mini DV: The investigating team captured the toys self activating several times throughout the investigation. These took place as different intervals, and usually in response to questions. The team spent roughly an hour trying to debunk the activity without success. The toys were not designed to self activate, and require physical manipulation to activate. At one time, two toys self activated simultaneously. One toy self activating is strange, but having several different toys self activating, and on command on several instances, is beyond coincidence (See Video Files Guitar 1.wmv, Guitar 2.wmv, Guitar 3.wmv, Guitar 4.wmv, Cow 1.wmv and Cow 2.wmv).

Photographic Evidence: None.

EVP’s: At the start of the EVP session, a moan like sound is present (See Audio File moan.mp3).

Temp Changes: None.

Nursery:

Baseline readings:

  • EMF: 1.0 mG

Temp Changes: None.

Master Bedroom:

Baseline Readings:

  • EMF: 1.0mG

EVP’s: None.

Personal Experiences:

Each investigating team member heard the sound of a cat meowing inside the house several times. Jeri Anderton indicated she felt a cat brush up against her leg. Without having captured any audio of the incidents, the investigating team cannot document the activity.

She and Michael also smelled the faintness of an electrical burning scent near the upstairs bathroom. The smell was present for a few seconds and then gone. Jeri did smell it again downstairs and once in the Children’s Room.

Additional Notes: None

Summary:

The investigating team listened to the Client’s claims and then tried to debunk them without success. The only claims experienced were the toys self activating (doing so several times in response to questions), and hearing a cat meowing from what sounded like inside the house. The team did capture an EVP in the Children’s Room that sounds like a low moan.

Conclusion:

Based on the evidence collected, HPI feels that there is paranormal activity taking place within the duplex. HPI would like to conduct more investigations to determine the exact nature of the activity.
