- Reviewed Previous Minutes: Approved with change as follows (in bold):
Clinics (Sherry): There was an interest in a speed event clinic with Sherry Jackson and Neesa Smith as clinicians – Sherry would like to post a sign up sheet on the web page with questions for the riders so clinicians will know the ability of the riders – Marilyn ask Victoria Bowen to check if we have 4-H kids at the clinic will we have to pay for the facility at Purcell – Sherry said that Binger has an indoor arena and they charge $150 plus $20 a head for cattle if we have a cattle clinic, they also have a concession stand available – SportHorse Arena (indoor) at Stillwater, Mark and Lisa check the possibilities there and get the information to Sherry – have had a lot of interest in cattle clinics – would like to have team sorting and ranch cutting since they are entry level cattle classes

- 2009 Judges: Decided on the following judges for the 2009 season:

Marilyn will contact each judge and check on their availability; if available, she’ll schedule them and send out a contract.
- Shawnee Facility for 2009: Discussed whether we wanted to keep our shows at Shawnee for 2009 – unanimous yes
- 2009 Show Dates: Decided on the following dates for 2009 show season – Marilyn will check with Mike Jackson, facility coordinator to see if the dates are available
May 2 & 3, 2009 (1st choice)September 12 & 13, 2009 (1st choice)
June 6 & 7, 2009 (1st choiceOctober 17 & 18, 2009 (1st choice)
June 13 & 14, 2009 (2nd choice)
- Clinics: Projected a couple of times for clinics (June and 1st of August) – put on forum board and see what input we get from that – the cattle clinic, you must pre-register and pre-pay (to get a count on how many cattle we’ll need)
- Dirt: The arena dirt problem we had last year (2007) has been resolved
- Youth Awards (3rd & 4th Places): Youth want to purchase awards for 3rd and 4th place in every youth class no matter what the participation average is – Rick made the motion to let the youth do this and Jeff seconded, motion passed – Awards Coordinator will purchase the awards, not the youth
- Team Roping: Brandon Smith would like for us to consider adding team roping to the schedule – wants it to be a judged, sanctioned class – if we go the 3-days in 2009 we could justify the cost - tabled
- 501(c)(4) Status (Marilyn): The 1099s are the correct way to handle contract labor hired at the show per the lawyer
