Healthy Hobart program and the “Up there Cazaly” project

•The Healthy Hobart program is to encourage the City of Hobart ratepayers and residents to consider their Heath and fitness to establish Hobart as a Healthy City

•The City of Hobart establish a partnership with various Hobart based gyms, fitness and other like centersto develop a program to encourage the City of Hobart ratepayers and residents to participate in a health awareness fitness and wellbeing program for the City.

•The partnership is for Hobart based gyms, fitness and other like centers to partner the Aquatic centre proving a one day fitness evaluation (where available) and gym pass to be used within a three month period and on an annual basis

•The intent is to provide ratepayers a list and gym pass voucher/s of the participating establishments on a yearly basis with the first rate notice in July each year. Residents will be required to provide proof of residency at the customer service centre or on line to receive the voucher

•Each ratepayer and resident will be able to attend any of the Hobart based gyms, fitness and other like centers to and be able to utilize the one day pass at any one or all of the participating establishments. The intent is for ratepayers and residents to experience the various establishments and decide which may be the best suitable for their needs

•The “Up there Cazaly”project is for the City of Hobart to work with small/medium business in the municipality to develop a group team approach to health, fitness and wellbeing.

•Team work in Health and sports fitness will assist and encourage employees to participate

•The “Up there Cazaly”project has been developed with both male and female teams to participate in a team based Heath and sports program

•The Cazaly program is to encourage business that a Healthy workforce will assist in the wellbeing of not only its employees but the business itself

•The proposal is for the HCC to partner the CazalySports and assist the small/medium business in the municipality to participate in a group program

•Monitoring of the Cazalysports program with be conducted by Rick Cazaly and results provided to each partnering business

•The costs associated with both these programs are envisaged to be minimal predominantly administration of the Healthy Hobart Program

•The costs for the HCC for the “Up there Cazaly” sports project and Healthy Hobartwould be minimal per annum to establish and maintain whichwould be a small cost for the wellbeing of the City residents

•Preliminary discussions with local gym owners, Guy Franklin (Genesis) and Rick Cazaly (Cazaly Sports) have been positive with all agreeing to participate in the Healthy Hobart program and the Hobart City Council to seek expressions of interest from other Hobart-based fitness centers willing to participate.

•This has a potential for a marketing sponsor to support the program with preliminary discussions underway.
