For each Health Unit, choose a project below to show your mastery of the health topic. Project ideas may only be used once per semester and must be turned in on time. Be creative and Please see Mrs. Downs if you have any questions.
Used in Unit / Project Idea / Project DescriptionAcrostic Poem / A word from the unit is written vertically and then each letter is used to start each line of a descriptive poem.
Rhyming Poem / Create a poem with rhyme to educate/illustrate information from the health topic.
Flash Cards / Create flash cards for key terms from the unit, using definitions and pictures.
Advertisement/Movie Poster / Create an advertisement or movie poster for a product, seminar, service, etc.
Counselors Corner / Write a dialogue about how you would help a student in need. Identify key concepts that would help the student from the unit.
Bumper Sticker / Create a witty bumper sticker about a specific health topic.
Cause and Effect Chain / Describe two causes and two effects for a given situation related to the content of the unit.
Informational Brochure / Create a six-panel foldout brochure that highlights and informs about major and minor topics related to the unit.
Search Engine / Look up and summarize 10 different websites as they relate to the content of the unit. Create a rubric to measure each website and rate them.
Collage / Using magazines, pictures and words, create a collage about a health topic.
Comic Strip / Create a 3-5 panel comic strip showing a health concept/topic.
Text MSG SUMRE / Write up a health situation in text messaginglanguage,including all appropriate abbreviations and similes. Pretend you are directly involved in the event.
Song Rewrite / Rewrite the lyrics to a song to make it about a health topic.
Handouts / Create three of your own worksheets using terms/information from the current unit.
Action Plan / Create a plan on how you can personally implement strategies from the unit into your life.
Snap Chat / Create a 5-10 slide series of snap chat photos to communicate a concept from the unit.
Flow Chart / Create a FlowChart that provides a "series" or "decisions/consequences" of a situation as it relates to the unit.
Advice Columnist / Write a letter to a person struggling with their life situation giving him or her advice on a problem using specific concepts from the unit.
Picture Book / Create a children’s book about a health topic.
Newspaper Article / Write a newspaper article for parents educating them about the importance of a topic(s) in the unit.
Blog it Out / Write a Blog on a particular issue or topic from the unit.
Tweet, Tweet / Create a series of #Tweets raising questions for discussion concerning issues or topics from the unit. #whatshouldido?
Clip Art Story / Create a story using clip art pictures to communicate about the topic.
Song / Write a song that communicates a key concept or issue.
Slideshow Presentation / Create a PowerPoint/Prezi presentation on a topic.
Create a Quiz / Create a 25 question Quiz using 4 different types of test questioning. Create the quiz and answer key.
Traditional Poster / Create an artistic poster that that serves as a visual representation of a main point/topic/concept of the unit.
Online Poster / Using glogster or another web tool, create a poster that serves as a visual representation of a main point/topic/concept of the unit.
Radio Podcast/Talk Show / Record a 5 min "on-Air" talk radio/call in show with guests & questions related to the unit topic.
PSA Clip / Create a 2-4 min Public Service Announcement (PSA) video clip educating the public on a specific issue.PSA should be catchy, simple and captures the bigger picture of the unit.
Informational Video / Create an informational video about the topic or issue within the unit.
