Health Professions Registration Regulations 2007

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are to prescribe—

(a)the particulars to be contained in an application for registration as a health practitioner;

(b)the particulars to be included on a certificate of registration issued by a responsible board;

(c)the names of the registers to be kept by the responsible boards under the Health Professions Registration Act 2005;

(d)other matters required to be prescribed to give effect to the Act.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 158 of the Health Professions Registration Act 2005.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2007.

4Definition

In these Regulations—

the Act means the Health Professions Registration Act 2005.

5Particulars in application for registration

For the purposes of section 4(2)(e) of the Act, the following particulars are prescribed—

(a)the full name of the applicant;

(b)the details of any other names the applicant has used;

(c)the date of birth of the applicant;

(d)the telephone number of the applicant.

6Information on certificate of registration as a health practitioner

For the purposes of section 31(2)(g) of the Act, the prescribed information is—

(a)the full name of the health practitioner or student;

(b)the date that the certificate was issued;

(c)the period for which the registration remains in force.

7The registers

The names of the registers of health practitioners kept by the responsible boards under section 30 of the Act are as follows—

(a)in the case of the register kept by the Chinese Medicine Registration Board of Victoria—the Register of Chinese Medicine Practitioners;

(b)in the case of the register kept by the Chiropractors Registration Board of Victoria—the Register of Chiropractors;

(c)in the case of the register kept by the Dental Practice Board of Victoria—the Register of Dental Care Providers;

(d)in the case of the register kept by the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria—the Register of Medical Practitioners;

(e)in the case of the register kept by the Medical Radiation Practitioners Board of Victoria—the Register of Medical Radiation Practitioners;

(f)in the case of the register kept by the Nurses Board of Victoria—the Register of Nurses;

(g)in the case of the register kept by the Optometrists Registration Board of Victoria—the Register of Optometrists;

(h)in the case of the register kept by the Osteopaths Registration Board of Victoria—the Register of Osteopaths;

(i)in the case of the register kept by the Pharmacy Board of Victoria—the Register of Pharmacists;

(j)in the case of the register kept by the Physiotherapists Registration Board of Victoria—the Register of Physiotherapists;

(k)in the case of the register kept by the Podiatrists Registration Board of Victoria—the Register of Podiatrists;

(l)in the case of the register kept by the Psychologists Registration Board of Victoria—the Register of Psychologists.
