Health Laboratory Manager

We are currently looking to identify a suitably qualified and experienced laboratory managerpreferably with knowledge in molecular biology, biochemistry and/or experience in developing new diagnostic techniques.

The post would involve undertaking some of the routine tests (PCR, biochemistry, bacteriology), lead the delivery of the laboratory services, process the data, report it to the Health and Production Teams and manage the Health Department’s data (internal and external). The candidate must ensure thatHealth Department’s requirements are met in daily tasks like sampling, order of supplies and advice in some of the activities. The person should be capable of leading and supporting some of the research the company is involved with.

Reporting to the Head of Fish Health, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an aptitude for managing, motivating and making sure the results are prioritized according to the company’s needs so good organizing and communication skills are needed.The person must be capable ofreviewing methods, procedures and risk assessments.

In addition, applicants should have a high degree of computer literacy.The position allows scope for personal development and independent working, within the framework of support and joint responsibility provided by the existing team of experienced fish health biologists and veterinarians.
