Equal Opportunities Policy
1. Introduction
Health Education Partnership Limitedrecognises that it is essential to provide equal opportunities to all persons without discrimination. This policy sets out the company’s position that no person involved or associated with Health Education Partnership Ltd will receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of:
- Religious belief or political opinion
- Race (including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origins)
- Disability
- Gender, including gender reassignment
- Marital or civil partnership status
- Having or not having dependents
- Sexual orientation
- Age
This policy aims to give guidance but if in doubt advice should be sought from David Millard, Managing Director of Health Education Partnership Limited.
All independent advisers will be made aware of our Equal Opportunities Policy, and where applicable will make them aware of their responsibilities.
When working for or with agencies and schoolsHealth Education Partnership Limited and its representatives will agree which policies and procedures will take precedence and be adhered to. In most instances the policies of the organisation employing the services of Health Education Partnership Limited will be adopted.
2. Statement of policy
- It is the policy of Health Education Partnership Limited to ensure that no job applicant or employee, including contracted independent advisers, receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of sex, race, marital status, disability, age, part-time or fixed term contract status, sexual orientation or religion, or is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements that cannot be shown to be justifiable. The company is committed not only to its legal obligations but also to the positive promotion of equality of opportunity in all aspects of employment.

3. Recruitment and promotion
- All descriptions and specifications for independent advisers will include only requirements that are necessary and justifiable for the effective performance of the job.
- All selection will be thorough, conducted against defined criteria and will deal only with the independent adviser’s suitability for the job. Where it is necessary to ask questions relating to personal circumstances, these will be related purely to job requirements and asked to all candidates.
- All independent advisers who work for Health Education Partnership will be treated fairly and will not be discriminated against on any of the grounds named above.
- Health Education Partnership Limited will put in place any reasonable measures and/or adjustments within the workplace for independent advisers who become disabled during employment or for disabled independent advisers.
5. Training
- All independent advisers will be encouraged to discuss their training needs with the Managing Director. Where appropriate Health Education Partnership may make a contribution to this training. This will be regardless of sex, race, marital status, disability, age, part-time or fixed term contract status, sexual orientation or religion.
6. Grievances and victimisation
- Health Education Partnership Limitedemphasises that discrimination is unacceptable conduct, whichcould result in a formal warning, dismissal or termination of contract.
- Any complaints will receive prompt attention and will be properly investigated.
