MEETING SUMMARY

1. Welcome and Roll Call
The Chair welcomed attendees and conducted a roll call.

2. Teleconference Participation

The Chair reviewed guidelines for teleconference participation.

3. Subcommittee Activity and Assignments and Financial Situation

·  At their last meeting, CVPC voted to use the monies collected for the Training Fund last year to support this year’s seminar.

·  Sandy has volunteered to run the microphones.

·  Joanie will do the 50/50 raffle.

·  Joanie will also read the bios of the speakers.

4. 2015 CVPC/BEP Vendor Training Seminar

·  Exhibitors for Friday afternoon

o  ATNIP

o  Pay Range

o  Society for the Blind

o  Quenco

o  Sandy will follow up with the RSA Buying Group

o  Sandy will reach out to Square

·  Speakers for Saturday

o  Assemblyman Paterson will be speaking at 11:45 AM. CVPC will be presenting him with a plaque and inviting the Assemblyman and his staff to lunch for a meet and greet.

o  A plaque will be presented to a BEP vendor for his work on legislation on behalf of other vendors.

o  California Restaurant Association has a 45-60 minute presentation. They will cover both legislation and sexual harassment.

o  Board of Equalization

o  Labor laws presentation

o  Panel discussion on the BEP procurement process

o  Adaptive technology specialist

·  ServeSafe training on Sunday

o  Greg DeWall will serve as the motivational speaker between 9:00-9:45, prior to the Serve Safe training.

o  Kathleen recommends beginning the ServeSafe training at 11:00.

§  12:00- Lunch

§  1:00- Test

·  Menu

o  All meals will be plated.

o  Subcommittee Members voted to have prociutto wrapped chicken, pork, and vegetarian for lunch.

o  Subcommittee Members voted to have prime rib, balsamic chicken, and vegetarian for dinner.

o  Subcommittee Members voted to have carrot cake for lunch’s dessert and cheesecake for dinner’s dessert.
