Dear parents/carers
I hope you have all had a relaxing and enjoyable summer and are looking forward to the new school year. On behalf of all the staff, I wish you a warm welcome back to school. We will be sending out more detailed information early next week about the coming term but I wanted to make you aware of a small change we are making from Monday 8th September.
We have installed a bell (more of a buzzer sound), which will go off at the start and end of the day, as well as during break times within the day. The times of the day are not changing but using the bell will ensure that everyone starts the day promptly and that lessons keep to time, in order to maximise learning time for the children. Your child’s teacher should open the door at the first bell at 8.45, then when the second bell goes at 8.55, they will close the door and start the register. If you arrive after this time, you will need to report to the office at the main entrance.
Most of you will already be aware that we have installed doors in the front facing wall of the Year 1 classrooms. This was to enable the classes to access the outside area during the day, as well as to make waiting and entry to the classrooms easier, and to ease congestion and disruption in other parts of the school. We also have a new gate from the alley that runs alongside the school, which opens into this area; hopefully this will help those of you that have to drop children off at the back of the school and then come round to Year 1. As ever, if you have any concerns, please feel free to contact myself, the school office or your child’s class teacher.
