HEADLINE: Frye Daddy's Foundation sponsors Humble ISD Golf Classic
The 2012 Humble ISD Golf Classic will be held on Monday February 20, 2012 at the Kingwood Country Club Golf Course. The Humble ISD Golf Classic is honored by the sponsorship from The Frye Daddy's Foundation. Each year Humble ISD Golf teams, families and friends participate in this district-wide fundraiser tournament to raise monies to contribute to existing district funds needed to support the golf programs at each high school with a golf program: Atascocita, Kingwood, Kingwood Park and Summer Creek. The event has had over 300 participants in the past. The tournament consists of a 4-person scramble, lunch, awards, reception, silent auction and food served in the Kingwood Country Club clubhouse following the tournament.
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with the Frye Daddy's Foundation as the title sponsor for this event to further honor the memory of Donald W. Frye III, " announced Beth Davis, Chairman for the Golf Classic. "This tournament highlights the foundation's mission and the legacy of Donny Frye." The Frye family founded the Frye Daddy's Foundation after the loss of their loving father, son, brother and uncle. "We are excited and proud to sponsor this event," stated Elizabeth Frye, Donny's wife. Karen Frye, his mother added, "The schools and the community showed such overwhelming love and support to us that this is one way that we can give back and support our foundation's mission which is to encourage participation in youth sports activities." Last year the Humble Classic presented $31,000.00 to the Humble ISD.
Tim Garcia, Kingwood Park High School golf coach said, "Golf is a lifelong activity, building self-confidence and integrity through competitive sport and brings cherished values for future generations. We all want to be a part of the tournament's success, and to provide good programs and continue to inspire students and their families to play golf."
