Head of Corporate, Community & Events

Job Summary

·  To lead the Community fundraising team, effectively managing and supporting Community Fundraisers to generate income at agreed levels through existing and new supporters and groups, and build excellent supporter relationships.

·  To effectively account manage existing corporate partnerships to maximise income and benefit for the Hospices, and mutual agreed benefits for the company, as well as securing new corporate partners.

·  To support Events Fundraising Manager to deliver budgeted income at agreed expenditure from hospice events and challenge events.

·  Develop a clear strategy and plans for the above areas, to be implemented effectively to deliver income and net profit targets.

Responsibilities

·  Deliver budgeted income at agreed expenditure from hospice events, challenge events, community fundraising and businesses.

·  Manage direct income and expenditure budgets, reporting any risks and opportunities regularly to Director of Fundraising, and providing analysis and reforecasting for above income areas as required.

·  Line manage Community Fundraisers and Events Fundraising Manager, setting and monitoring annual objectives and monthly financial and activity targets, and conducting regular one to ones.

·  Reporting to, and working with Director of Fundraising, set strategy for community fundraising, and implement through quarterly operational plan, in line with departmental fundraising strategy, including:

development of new fundraising products, identification of target groups, demographics and geographies, tools and promotion required, stewardship to give excellent supporter care, and activity on-line and in the community.

·  Manage relationships with key individuals, groups and companies, to ensure retention, a high standard of supporter care and increased giving where possible.

·  Lead on best practice in supporter care across community, events and corporate fundraising, to engage, motivate and retain supporters and increase their relationship with the charity

·  Work across fundraising and the wider organisation to ensure that opportunities are maximised at hospice events, challenge events and community events to further objectives of the charity, such as awareness raising and cross promotion of volunteering and other fundraising products.

·  To develop long term corporate partnerships, working closely with Fundraising Development Manager, involving where possible a number of: sponsorship, donations, gifts in kind, cause related marketing, corporate volunteering.

·  Ensure corporate partnership activity and benefits are agreed in writing with companies and delivered by the charity.

·  Support Events Fundraising Manager to develop an annual strategy and programme of Hospice Events and annual challenge event offers, improving ROI of existing events, and introduce new events to further generate income and grow net profit.

·  Develop effective cross working across Community and Event fundraising, to ensure maximum efficiency and income generation, introducing new processes and ways of working as necessary.

·  Responsible for leading on fundraising volunteers across the department, working closely with Volunteer Services Manager, and HR department; identifying resource needs, recruiting fundraising volunteers and putting processes in place for effective management and supporter care of fundraising volunteers.

·  Support Director of Fundraising on projects across the department.

General Responsibilities

·  Develop excellent working relationships across Woking & Sam Beare Hospices teams and personnel, and with any relevant external stakeholders such as agencies, suppliers and supporters.

·  To ensure accurate and timely input of supporter information onto the Donorflex database.

·  To ensure Woking & Sam Beare Hospices remains compliant with regards to legislation, regulations and fundraising codes of practice pertaining to challenge, events, community and corporate fundraising, including health and safety, commercial participator agreements, data protection and gift aid. To be aware of trends, new opportunities and threats to income.

·  To actively support and promote Woking & Sam Beare Hospices and all its policies including equal opportunities.
