Information Pack – Junior Player

NOMINATIONS

Online nomination and payment are due17thFebruary 2018. No late nominations will be accepted.

A non-refundable nomination trial fee of $10 per nominee must be paid prior to trial.

No player will be permitted to trial unless the online nomination has been completed, and nomination fee has been receipted by HBNA. No player will be permitted to trial if there are any outstanding fees owing to HBNA.

Players must be a registered, financial member of a Club affiliated with HBNA and/or Netball Qld and must agree to comply with HBNA as to the number of fixture games played for season ahead.

Nominees must abide by the rulings and policies of HBNA. Please refer to the “Representative Selection Policy” in the library section of

TRAINING AND SELECTIONS

All nominees will attend representative squad selections as follows:

  • Under 11’s to under 14’s - on Thursday 22nd February and Thursday 1st March 2018 (both sessions)
  • Under 15’s to Opens – on Wednesday 21st and Wednesday 28th2018 (both sessions)

Teams will be posted on the HBNA website on Wednesday7thof March. Team training commences Thursday 15thMarch 2018 and will continue on Thursday nights at the HBNA courts. Thursday night training is set aside for Rep.

All selections and trainings are compulsory. If a player is unable to attend any training session, the Team Manager must be notified a minimum of 24 hours prior to the session and state the reason for being unable to attend. Email your Team Manager in this instance.

If a player is unable to attend a SELECTION TRIAL, an email must be provided to the Association Secretary a minimum of 24 hours prior to commencement of the selection trial time stating the reason for being unable to attend. Email the Association Secretary to

Selection of a player who is absent from final selection will be at the discretion of the selection committee and selection shall not be automatically assumed.

JUNIOR PLAYER CODE OF BEHAVIOUR

In addition to Hervey Bay Netball Association’s General Code of Behaviour, you must meet the following requirements with regard to your conduct during any activity held by or under the auspices of Hervey Bay Netball Association in your role as a Junior Player.

  1. Participate because you enjoy it, not just to please parents and coaches.
  2. Play by the rules
  3. Know the rules.

3.Participate fairly and safely.

4.Abide by decisions, without argument or bad temper

  • Captains have the right to approach an umpire during an interval or after the game for clarification of any rule
  • Approach the umpire in a courteous and polite way.

5.Co-operate with your coach, and other players

  • Verbal abuse of officials or other players, deliberately fouling or provoking an opponent and throwing/ damaging equipment is not acceptable or permitted
  • Treat all players as you would like to be treated
  • Ensure that at all times your behaviour is fair
  • Be a patient and enthusiastic supporter of fellow players.

6.Applaud all good play, by your own team and opponents.

7.Be a responsible team member

  • Always be on time
  • Encourage and assist all players
  • Attend all training sessions
  • Ensure you always bring the appropriate uniform and equipment to training and/ or matches.
