JuniorGolfSchool Description
The 4 Hat System will continue forward as in years past. All returning Juniors are encouraged to participate again and will continue earning more points towards their graduation and the BLACK HAT! For those Junior Golfers and Parents that may be new to the program below is a brief description of the program.
Jr. Evaluation
Each Junior will be evaluated before the start of the program and graded on many of the faucets of golf. Each skill will be graded and points will be awarded. All the points will be totaled; the total points will determine which Hat Color the Junior will receive.
Areas of Evaluation
Each Junior will be evaluated in the following areas and graded on a 1 to 10 point scale to determine their starting hat color. Upon completion of the evaluation each Junior will receive the proper color hat and a copy of their evaluation so they can focus on the necessary skills to graduate to the next hat color
Full Swing – Set up, Swing Technique, Distance and Accuracy – 40 total pts available
Chipping – Set up, Technique, Contact and Accuracy – 40 total pts available
Pitching – Set up, Technique, Contact and Accuracy – 40 total pts available
Bunker – Set up, Technique, Impact and Accuracy – 40 total pts available
Putting – Set Up, Technique, Speed/Line and Green Reading – 40 total pts available
Rules and Etiquette – 20 total pts available
Hat Color and Point Breakdown
Khaki Hat– 0 to 100 pts
Blue Hat – 101 to 200 pts
Red Hat – 201 to 300 pts
Black–Graduated Jr. Golfer
PGA Junior League and PGA Junior League Information
PGA Junior League Golf (PGA JLG) features a team vs. team scramble format in a structured league setting that provides for a more popular, less stressful, competition. The emphasis is on the fun, recreation, and sportsmanship of the game for players at any skill level. Where every participant gets the chance to play, join our team today.
Additional Information
2015 will once again experience growth with the HWCC PGA Jr. Golf League. 2014 was our second year, we had 3 team and 30 players. 2015 will hopefully see HWCCcontinued expansion and the possible addition of two divisions. The two divisions will be divided by ages. The Junior Division will be 8, 9, 10 year olds, Senior Division will feature 11, 12, 13 year olds.
Junior Golfer Play Days
Back again for the 2015 Season, we are happy to re-introduce Junior Golfer Play Days. These 5 Play Days will be held on mornings at 8:45am. These are a great way to get your junior golfer involved in the game. All Junior Golfers are welcome to participate in the Play Days. The Juniors will play as many holes as they can complete in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Most of the groups will require a chaperone to help transport the players out to the starting hole and back to the Golf Shop when the round is complete. These chaperones will consist of Golf Staff Members and parent volunteers. The Pay Days are complimentary for all Golf and Social Members. Please see the Play Day dates below.

2015 HWCC Junior Golf School Dates & Fees
Cost –$300 per Junior entered in the program. $325 to per Junior social member entered in the program.
Evaluation Dates
Dates will start in May on the weekends and after school. Please call the Golf Shop to set up an appointment. Each evaluation appointment will take approximately 60 minutes (30 minutes of swing evaluation and 30 minutes for the Rules and Etiquette test).
Clinic Schedule – Each week will have a primary focus, Rules & Etiquette, Putting, Chipping, Pitching Bunkers, Full Swing Irons and Full Swing Woods
Khaki Hat from 9:00am to 10:15am
Blue Hat from 10:30am to 11:45am
Red Hat from 12:00pm to 1:15pm

PGA Junior League and PGA Junior League Dates & Fees
PGA Junior League – Up to 6 matches held at HWCC and other area clubs in our league. The season is during the months of June and July. All teams will practice at least 3 times during the season.
PGA Jr. LeagueCost - $200 per Junior entered in the program. $225 to per Junior social member entered in the program.
