FACILITY: The competitive indoor swimming pool measures 10 -50 METER LANES . The seating capacity for the spectators is 300, which includes handicapped seating for 6. Competition will occur in 8 lanes with 1 lane for continual warm up and the option to go to 2 lanes for continual warm up. Men’s and Women’s locker rooms are off the pool deck but are not accessible to parents during the meet. Parents who wish to accompany their children to the locker rooms should utilize the restrooms in the lobby. Dacktronics timing system and 1 line scoreboard are available.

The use of audio or video recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, restrooms or locker rooms. Such devices being used in these restricted areas will be subject to confiscation. Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited.

FORMAT: Timed finals age group meet open to USA Swimmingg registered athletes and teams: 8&under, 9-10,-11-12, 13-14, and 15 & over. Enter meet in long course meter times. Entries may be limited for events 400 meters and over to allow for proper time management. Number of heats will be determined after receipt of all entries. Clubs with swimmers limited-out will be notified and entry fees refunded.

POOL MEASUREMENTS: The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C (4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming.

WATER DEPTH: The depth of the pool at the start end is 8 feet. The depth at the turn end is 13 feet.

UNSUPERVISED SWIMMERS: USA Swimming athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. Swimmers participating under the provisions of 202.6 or USA Swimming “open border” policy must be under the supervision of their coach or a USA Swimming member coach. Coaches who are entering swimmers but will not be at the meet should arrange ahead of time for another coach to supervise their athletes. Swimmers unaccompanied by their coaches or for whom arrangements have not been made must contact the Meet Director or Meet Referee who will assist the athlete in finding coach supervision.

STARTING TIMES: Warm-up will start at 9:00am on Sat & Sun; Meet will start at 10:30am Sat & Sun. Second session warm ups will start immediately following first session. We reserve the right to add sessions based on entries.

ENTRY DEADLINE: The due date for entries, electronic or otherwise, April 19, 2014.

ENTRY FEES:

Individual events $4.50

KYLSC Surcharge is $2.50 and a $ 3.50 facility surcharge.

Relay Fee $ 8.00

ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Swimmers may enter up to 5 individual events/day. The distance events 800 and 1500 Freestyle are restricted to 13 & over.

DECK ENTRIES: Proof of USA swim registration must be provided for all deck entries not already in the meet. Deck entry fees will be $ 8.00 for individual events and $10.00 for relays.

TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be available Saturday and Sunday after the last session at $10.00 per entry.

ELIGIBILITY: Swimmers must be current athlete members of USA Swimming as provided in Article 302 or as provided under 202.6 or USA Swimming “open border” policy. Age is as of the first day of the meet, April 26. Coaches must be current coach members of USA Swimming and must wear credentials during the meet. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

ENTRIES: Please make all entries in long course meter times.

Only electronic entries will be accepted (Hy-Tek or SDIF). Handwritten, telephoned, or faxed entries will not be accepted with the exception of the report sheet provided for utilization when entering swimmers with a disability. If the USA Swimming ID for any swimmer is omitted, that swimmer’s entries will not be accepted.

SWIMMERS WITH A DISABILITY: Entries for swimmers with a disability should be handled in the following manner: (1) enter the swimmer in the Hy-Tek database (or on the regular entry form); (2) list in the email accompanying the Hy-Tek entry file (or on a separate sheet of paper) the name of the swimmer, the stroke(s)/distance(s) s/he wishes to swim, the entry times, the day/session s/he wishes to swim the event(s), and the manner in which s/he prefers to be seeded (with a longer distance or with a different age group); and (3) provide any information about special accommodations needed by the swimmer. The final determination of seeding will be made by the Meet Referee after consultation with the swimmer and his/her coach.

CONDUCT: The meet will be conducted according to the rules set forth in the current USA Swimming Rules and Regulations. Events will be contested in a long course. Heats will be swum slowest to fastest and swum as timed finals. All events that are deck seeded will be swum fastest to slowest and as timed finals.

CHECK-IN DECK-SEEDING: Positive sign-in is not required except for events 400 meters & above. Swimmers limited-out of an event will have their entry fee refunded. Events 400 meters or longer will be deck-seeded with sign-in deadlines of 11:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Only a swimmer or his/her coach may sign-in for deck-seeded events.

CLERK OF COURSE: There will be NO clerk of course. Each team is responsible to make sure their athletes are behind the blocks.

AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top individual 8 places in each event- 8 & under/9-10/11-12/13-14/15 & over. Individual high point and runner up awards will be given to the high point and second high point girl & boy in the 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15 & over age groups. 10 & under will be scored for 8 & under and 9-10. 13 & over will be scored for 13-14 and 15 & over. The distance events 800 and 1500 Freestyle will be restricted to 13 & over. Coaches are asked to pick up awards at the end of of the meet.

ADMISSION COST: $5.00 per person per day. Heet sheets: $2.00.

PARKING: Parking lot spaces are limited at facility but a grass lot is available next to the facility. There will also be some grass area that can be used for pop up tents but there will be no announcements made outside.

RESULTS: Will be posted on www.KYLSC.org. Teams can be emailed results.

SAFETY/WARM-UP: Coaches must maintain contact with their swimmers during warm-up. All entry into the pool for warm-up is feet first from the starting block end of the pool. There is no diving during warm-up, except in designated sprint lanes.

Use of audio or visual recording, including a cell phone camera, is not allowed in changing areas, restrooms, or locker rooms.

COACHES: Please check your meet packet for your lane assignments and times. It is extremely IMPORTANT for you to

adhere to this schedule, as warm-up times are very limited.

Coaches must show USA Swimming certification in order to receive their coach’s packet, and must wear credentials during the meet.

There will be a coaches’ meeting 15 minutes prior to the start of each day’s swimming competition.

OFFICIATING OPPORTUNITY: Anyone that is a USA Swimming certified official is welcome and encouraged to join the Kentucky Swiming officials in officiating this meet. Please contact the Officials Chair, Paul Dole, in advance of the meet if at all possible to let him know of your availability. The officials chair’s contact information is listed below. Apprentices are welcome for all officials position. We are also looking for anyone that is interested in becoming an official, for more information please contact the Official’s Chair for Clinic schedules

There will be an official’s meeting 45 minutes prior to the start of each swimming session.

All meet directors, referees, starters and stroke and turn judges, serving in an official capacity must be members of

USA Swimming or other FINA-member organization. Except for coaches accompanying athletes participating under

the provisions of 202.6 or USA Swimming’s “open border” policy, all persons acting in any coaching capacity must be

members of USA Swimming.

NOTE: Only athletes entered in the meet, working coaches, officials, and meet workers are allowed on deck. Other non-participants are expected to remain in the spectator area.

HOSPITALITY: Hospitality will be provided in the party room immediately off the pool deck for coaches and officials.

TIMERS: Competing teams are REQUESTED to assist by supplying lane timers. The number of timers REQUESTED wil be based on the number of swimmers per team. There will be a TIMERS MEETING 15 min. prior to the start of each session.

DIRECTIONS: FROM NORTH: Take I-75 exit 29 at Corbin. Turn left coming off the exit from the north onto Route 25E toward Barbourville. Stay on 25E for roughly 18 miles until you reach Route 11 South. FROM SOUTH: Take I-75 exit 25 at Corbin. Turn right onto 25W towards Corbin go approximately 1 mi, turn right onto 3041 go 4 miles to 25E and turn right at the traffic light for about 15 miles until you reach Route 11 South. Turn right on to Daniel Boone Drive (it is the second traffic light coming into Barbourville) and stay on this road till you come to a 4way stop. Turn right onto N Main, go around the Court Square, turn right onto S Main. Go about 1 mi turn right onto Barner Lane you will see the center on your left. Turn left onto Center Street (driveway and parking area). Follow the international signs for the aquatic facility..
