Having Fun with Mud

Do you know that moment when you stop for a few seconds and you begin to think of your past, and silently your childhood memories come? I love when I get together my family and we begin to talk about what happened when we were children. Oh, I have good tales.

I will tell a funny story about my childhood. Well, my mama didn’t it was so funny when it happened, but now we laugh about that situation, and honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing. Ok, let`s start the story!

My sister, two cousins and I were having a water balloon fight. So far so good, but we found some mud. That mud was there because my mama had just watered the plants and she used the hose to water the flowers. We had a lot of mud. Like a lot of mud! We had a big garden. We were very happy and quickly we decided to play mud fight. When the mud was used up we put more water in the soil, and we began to play again. We only stopped playing because the sun set. That was the moment the problem started. We could see only each other’s eyes and teeth when we smiled. The other parts of our body were covered with mud. The second problem was the house`s wall. We lived in a rented house. Around the yard was a tall white concrete wall. We played for a long time throwing mud balls at each other, and consequently, when we missed the target, the mud balls hit the white concrete wall.

When we stopped playing, we walked towards the door and called our mothers. When they looked at us, the expression on their faces began to change from smiles to shock.

I do remember my mama’s expression when she looked at my sister and I, and our scared faces. We were afraid of what my mama was going to say. We knew we had a problem. My mom took a deep breath and said we could not enter the house. She said we must wash off outside using the hose. The water was cold and unfortunately that day was cold too. Of course we had to clean all the mess on the wall. I don’t remember exactly how long we cleaned the wall, but I remember we cleaned it for more than two days when we got home after school.

I will never forget that day. Even today, when I smell wet soil, I remember that moment and smile.
