Have you ever gazed at the moon and wondered what it is made out of? Let me tell you the story of how two characters once visited the moon to find out.

In London, not so long ago, there was a two friends – Wallace, who always had a smile on his face, and a cheeky dog called Gromit. They often went on adventures using their many inventions.

Late one night, when the stars were sparkling in the sky, Wallace and Gromit sat eating cheese and gazing at the moon.

“Someone once told me that the moon is made out of cheese!” stated Wallace, munching on his Wensleydale.

“Rubbish! Everyone knows that the moon is made out of sponge,” replied Gromit.

“There’s only one way to prove it. Let’s make a rocket and go and find out,” exclaimed Wallace.

The next day, Wallace and Gromit set to work making a rocket to go and explore the moon. After several hours, the rocket was finished. The rocket was made of orange, strong and polished metal. Immediately, they gathered all that they needed, jumped inside and started the engine. With a loud bang, the rocket roared into space.

Four hours later, the rocket landed on the moon. The two adventurers clambered down and started to explore. Out of his pocket, Wallace produced a knife and took a slice from the moon.

“Hmmmm, see Gromit… it is cheese!” cried Wallace whilst handing Gromit a slice of rubbery, delicious and holey cheese. Suddenly, the knife disappeared.

Behind them, there was a suddenly a low, strange and disturbing sound. As if in slow motion, Wallace and Gromit turned around. In front of their eyes, a rusty robot was placing the knife into his mouth.

“Hey, get off of our knife!” shouted Gromit at the top of his voice.

In front of the crater, the robot took a gulp, licked his lips and smiled. The robot zoomed towards the rocket and began to loosen the bolts. Not wanting the rocket to be destroyed, Wallace and Gromit dashed over. They flew up the stairs, slammed the door and fastened their belts.

“Let’s get out of here!” screeched Wallace, firing up the engines.

At once, the rocket blasted into the air. The robot tried to clasp onto the rocket but the strong wind blew him away and he tumbled down.On the floor, the robot glowered at the rocket soaring back to Earth.

After a long journey home, Wallace and Gromit sat with a cup of tea, gobbling a slice of delicious moon cheese, and chattering about the day’s events.Wallace had an even greater smile now that he had proved to his friend that the moon was actually made of cheese.
