What’s Been Happening in ………….. Walliams Class
In Walliams Class, we have begun our topic on the Romans. We were told of the story of Romulus and Remus and how Rome was established. We enjoyed acting out the story and the different scenes in groups.
In Literacy we have just finished creating our wonderful stories based on ‘Jack in the Beanstalk.’ We were able to use a range of superb vocabulary, speech, paragraphs and fronted adverbials. For those who don’t know what fronted adverbials are, they are adverbs or adverb phrases that go at the start of a sentence. Miss Walby is very impressed with how well our narrative writing has improved and the amount of description we added to it.
“I like how I was able to add more detail into my story.”
“In my story, the main character met an apple green alien and they finally became friends. In the end my version of Jack took the alien home and looked after him.”
During our Forest School sessions, we have created some Roman lucky bags, a fruit salad and we worked as a team last Monday to create a Roman Chariot.
“We are looking forward to having a real chariot race this Monday to see whose chariot is the most successful.”
“It was difficult making the chariot because there were lots of fiddly bits and we have to use hot glue guns.”
“When we made lucky charm bags, we cut a circle into some fabric using a template then we used our sewing skills to join it together. Inside the bags, we filled them with our wishes. We hope that they come true!”
Over this half term we have been lucky enough to have Mr Champion teach us how to read music and how to play the recorder. At first, we were making a lot of noise in the hall but we are now able to play a lot of tunes.

ADHD Support
ADHD Yeovil was set up initially as a support group for parents to see if we could start to build a network to help one another along the way. We are gradually growing in numbers through Facebook and Twitter.
We now hold monthly support groups where we share ideas that have or haven’t worked. It’sa place where you find you are not alone and no judgements will be made. We also have professionals who come and talk about what they can offer and how they can help. We are hoping to start groups in the day time and evening soon, details will be posted on our Facebook page.
We also hold activity sessions for children, to date we have been den building at Ham Hill, rock climbing at Ready to Climb and Nerf Wars at the Soccer Strike Centre to name but a few. All of which have been enjoyed by all those who attended. We have lots more exciting events planned for 2016, details of which can be found on our Facebook page (ADHD Yeovil). These events are open to all children and their siblings with ADHD, ODD, ADD and other related conditions.
