Home and School Minutes

Welcome and Introduction

Steph Rogovin welcomed and thanked everyone for coming. The previous minutes were approved by D’Ana Waters and Alicia Hayes.

Principal’s Report (attached)

Reading Report

North Penn HS students came into Hatfield to read to the students. Reading Olympics is 3/18 at Souderton HS. The PSSA’s are in April.

Treasurer Report

Dining out at Panera Bread yielded $57. Total offsite dining made is $268. She received 2 more field trip reports. They discussed the request by the 4th grade for an assembly just for that grade that was used last year and was a big hit. The board approved the additional funds for the assembly.

President Report

The nurse called to see if we could provide some volunteers for the day the physicals will be done at Hatfield on 2/18.

Fundraiser Report

On 2/24 Hatfield pizza dining out night. We will also have Wendys, Chick Fila and a possible Margaritas dining out nights.

We will need a new fundraiser idea for the fall. Diane Kortz suggested moving the Hawk Walk fundraiser to the fall and make that the primary fundraiser. It was very well received and we will discuss this and other possibilities for smaller fundraisers.

Past Activities

K-3 night was a huge success and well attended (190 kids)

Yearbook Pics-April 8th pics will be done. Mary is thinking about doing a table at Beach Party to showcase the yearbook.

Future Activities

The lip sinc is 2/20. There are 13 acts. The kids have auditioned and they look great. There is no staff act this year.

Beach Party is set for 3/20 and Diane Minguez is running and will have a meeting this Thursday at 7. Volunteers will be needed.

Hawk Walk is scheduled for 4/24. It looks as though we may not have May Fair this year, so, we will have to come up with different incentives and prizes.

6th grade-Everything is running smooth and they are progressing nicely. Gifts have been picked and pictures are being collected.

Box tops are being collected and contest ends on the middle of this month.

Committee News

NPAGE-Diane Kortz said Super Saturday is scheduled for 3/14. Many fun learning opportunities.

Coordinating Council-meeting was canceled last month due to snow.

Other Business

There are 2 open Board positions, recording and corresponding secretary. Diane Kortz volunteered to be the nominating chair. Heather Howerton may be interested in corresponding secretary.

Hospitality usually does the teacher luncheon which is the week of May 4th. We will need volunteers to help out with this.

Next meeting is scheduled for March 10, 2015
