HASLETT-OKEMOS ROTARY COMMITTEE DUTIES
I. CLUB SERVICE - Christine Tenaglia
Coordinate and strengthen fellowship. Ensure effective club operation through the following subcommittees:
Membership – Pam Currie
- Help to identify holes in the membership at large.
- Coordinate new members so they are welcomed into the group and understand both their responsibilities as well as their privileges.
Club Bulletin – Jean Frentz
- Provide a record of meetings and programs that is distributed to members weekly.
- Implement Club Runner and educate members on uses.
- Maintain website.
Fellowship - ??
- Provide opportunities for members to interact in social or recreational activities.
Programs – Bruce Caltrider
1. Prepare and arrange programs for regular and special meetings.
Public Relations - ??
- Develop an implement a public relations plan that includes club activities, events and honors.
- Set up any news stories to local papers/TV/etc.
- Help accentuate any rotary member who is recognized for other non-rotary reasons.
II. VOCATIONAL SERVICE – Lee Gerard
Develop activities that promote high ethical standards and appreciation for all occupations
throughout a community. Subcommittees include:
Student of the Month and Annual Scholarships – Brian Cools
- Help to identify students of the month.
- Coordinate the student of the month to be at meetings to receive recognition.
Meridian Area Business Association – Jan Quiring
- Attend MABA meetings and represent Club
Yearly Honors & Awards – Dennis Louney
- Determine recipients who meets standards & qualifications for the John Campbell Award, the Rotarian of the Year and other awards.
III. COMMUNITY SERVICE – Dave Muhleck
Covers projects and activities that the club undertakes to improve life inour community. Subcommittees and their duties include:
Golf outing – Patti Hicks & ??
- Give the individual golf committees a strong sense of direction.
- Hold accountable all members of the group to uphold their responsibilities.
Old Newsboys – Ken Whitmyer & Mike Ma
1.Coordinate annual December drive for the club.
Food basket drive – Betty Mercer and Duane Possanza
- Organize and coordinate collection and delivery of food baskets in the fall.
HERO Luncheon – Christine Tenaglia
- Organize and coordinate HERO luncheon
- Track tickets, member participation and funding
IV. INTERNATIONAL SERVICE – Jean Frentz
International service encompasses actions to expand Rotary’s humanitarian reach around the globe. Our duties include
- Reviewing international projects and deciding recommendations for our club to support.
- Organizing any international projects that the Okemos- Haslett Rotary may be getting in involved with.
- Keeping the club informed on the progress of any such projects.
