HARMAN® Professional Renews Support of The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing®
HARMAN® Professional's AKG® Acoustics, dbx®, JBL® Professional and Lexicon® reaffirm their commitment as official P&E Wing Sponsors
Santa Monica, Calif. (November 23, 2015) — The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing® is proud that its relationship with HARMAN® Professional's leading audio brands AKG® Acoustics, dbx®, JBL® Professional and Lexicon® has been increasingly successful in its efforts to promote quality in audio. As official "P&E Wing Sustaining Partners," these brands have participated in a wide variety of activities, including being the title sponsor of high-profile regional Academy Chapter events, having a presence on the P&E Wing section of the GRAMMY PRO® site and being supporters of the P&E Wing Manufacturer's Council. Now, for 2015-2016, HARMAN Professional has officially reaffirmed its sponsorship and will continue to work closely with the P&E Wing to support its initiatives and membership.
A recent highlight of the P&E Wing itinerary of events was the series of "From Mic to Mix" live recording demonstrations, co-sponsored with HARMAN Professional. Professional development sessions designed to showcase the production and engineering crafts along with products and technologies used during the recording process, "From Mic to Mix" events are hosted by top studios and have featured local talent from the Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville and Pacific Northwest Recording Academy chapters. Attendees experience initial pre-production planning, room setup and mic placement, the live tracking process and basic mixing. Attendees also enjoy networking and interaction with audio experts from the HARMAN brands who share details about new HARMAN products and technologies. A recent Seattle event featured producer Mike Clink (Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, Megadeth), and acclaimed Seattle-based singer/songwriter Star Anna.
Other joint HARMAN/P&E Wing-supported endeavors during the past year included En La Mezcla (the P&E Wing Latin GRAMMY Week Celebration) and the P&E Wing's 8th Annual GRAMMY® Week Celebration Honoring Nile Rodgers.
"HARMAN continues to proudly support the Producers & Engineers Wing, its endeavors and its membership," noted Peter Chaikin, Director, Recording and Broadcast at JBL Professional. "The P&E Wing's advocacy work is vital to the industry's content creators, engineers, artists, equipment manufacturers and indeed, the listeners. We look forward to another year of great projects and events together."
"We are very pleased that HARMAN has chosen to continue its partnership with The Producers & Engineers Wing," stated Maureen Droney, The Recording Academy Managing Director, P&E Wing and Recording Technology. "JBL Professional, dbx, AKG Acoustics and Lexicon share the P&E Wing's vision of capturing and delivering the highest quality audio. We look forward to this continued partnership and to another year of great work and pushing the high quality audio envelope."
