Thiscanalsobea beginningforanewkindoflifeforthewholecompound. ThisKairos WeekendwasnotpreparedbytheteamjustsowecouldhaveagreatWeekend andeata lotofcookies. Aswestepoutinfaith,trustingGod'slove, andknowingthatChristwill be active inourlives,weneedto supporteachother. Earlierwesaidthateveryoneinthis roomisasinner,allofus.Butlook attheteam;theytrulycareforeachother,prayforeach

other,andsupporteachother.Ifwedidn't, wecouldn'tandwouldn'tbeherebecauseofour humannature.Nowtakethatconceptto anotherlevel:sharewhatyou'vefoundthis Weekend,thiscaring,andshare itwithothersinthe compound.We teammemberscannot gooutintothecompound,wecannotbewhere theyworkorplay; buteachoneofyoucan!

C. Heneedsyourencouragementandsupportjustasmuchasyou need his. Weall needtopulltogether.

•Believingwearesomething:Canyouseehoweasyitwouldbeforanyof ustobecomeaPiousPeteoraHolyJoe? Weareandcanbeeffective instrumentsinthiscompound onlythroughGod'spower,notourown.

•Believingwearenothing: Becausetheworld outside this gymis largelyanun-Christianworldandaverythreatening anddangerous place, howeasywoulditbetoslipoffintoourownlittlecornerofthecompoundto protectourselves becausewethinkwe'renothing?

•AlifeinChristcallsforcourage,acouragethatwecancertainlyprayfor.

Don'tforgetthatwecandoallthingswithGod'shelp. Christandyouarean overwhelmingmajority.

IV.Withallofthatsaid,whataresomeadditionaltoolswecangiveyou?

A. The Training Day: Next Saturday (givetimeanddate), somemembers ofthisteam, along with the CHAs,willbehere to present a one day workshop on living your “Fourth Day,” that is, the rest of your life after this weekend. We will be joined by many of the men who made the KAIROS weekend before you both here at Buckingham and at other institutions. We'll be talking about:

  • What to expect in your “Fourth Day:”
  • What happens in a Prayer and Share Group,
  • Howtoformprayer-andsharegroups.
  • How the monthly KAIROS reunion works.

These prayer-and-sharegroupsarethebasicunitoftheKairosministryandareyour bestguaranteeofbeingabletohangontowhatyou've foundthisWeekend. The monthly reunion helps to reinforce the message. It also give you an opportunity to interact with members of he KAIROS community who you do not normally encounter during your day to day living and working.

Everyoneherewillbeonacall-outsheetforthisevent.

B.Weekly Prayer-and-ShareGrouping

1) Onceyouareinagroup,youcanmeeteveryweekwiththatgroup.

2) YoucanalsoshareChristianfellowshipinthechowhall,inthecanteen, in theweightroom, onthetrack,orinyour pod.

4) A positivefeatureofthis WeeklyChristianfellowshipisthatitis yourgroup andyourtime.

•Therewill not beanyfree-worldvolunteersinvolved

•Youwillshareyourspiritualneedsandprayerrequestswiththe others;theywillsharewithyou

•All ofyou will prayforeachother,thosewhoareabsent,and for allChrist-bearersinthe compound.

C.TheKairosMonthlyReunion:

TheKairosteamwillbecomingbackeachmonthasyourguestshereat

Buckingham whileyouandanypreviousKairosResidentattendeeswillbeour hosts. Considerthisa"groupingofgroups" ofall Kairosmembersinthe compound. Therewill beadefinedschedulewhichall ofyou,underthedirection ofthe chaplain,willfollow.We'llbeheretoassistalloftheKairosgraduateswith theirprayer-and-sharegroupsto bondwith eachother,andnotus.Yourinside community,withhelpfrom thechaplain,willberesponsibleforthe planningand organizingofthesereunions.

D. The2-DayResidents'Retreat:

These Retreatsareopento all Residentsintheinstitutionwhohaveattendeda 3 dayWeekendandare clearedtoattend.Theyareheld3monthsaftereachWeekend,andwhilesimilar to aWeekend,our talksareshorter andtherearenosummariesorposters. Therewillbelotsofprayer-and-sharetime.

Let me end by once again reminding you that we will meet right here in the gym, next Saturday morning at 8:30AM. These past three days have been a preparation for your Fourth Day, which lasts the rest of your life whether you are here at Buckingham, another institution, or back on the street. Next Saturday, you will learn how to live as a follower of Christ in the Fourth Day.

Now it is time for us to prepare for the closing of this weekend. All team members and our new brothers in Christ, please follow me up the stairs and to the classroom right behind me. CHAs will remain to finish cleaning up and setting up for the closing.
