Principal’s Report – Mark James

- January 20TH at 5:30am a teacher found a `threat` note in the front door. It was considered an `interruption` of time and energy. By 7:30am 7-8 policemen and dogs in the school checking it was safe. The school opened as usual. Lots of kids were very concerned and anxious. School will not be surprised if it happens again.

- Last P Day, the Handsworth family of schools got together at Highlands Elementary to discuss, learn and focus on `assessment`. Teachers from Handsworth talked about:

- Scott Bennett: `How to work with feeder schools`

- Erika Toombs: How to deal with late assignments`

More to be studied about the subject:

-It is a challenge for teaches at the time of reporting, since students should know how they did on their evaluations, and the question of unlimited re-do`s.

- For more information on assessment: Rick Wormleli

Guest Speakers: Annie Mauboules – NV District Social Planner and Suhk Kandola – Capilano Community Services Society Youth Worker.
