Use all our human senses to learn. Human beings learn the world through our senses. How many senses are you incorporating in your lessons? (See, hear, touch, write, move, smell, taste) the more senses you use the better it sticks. The least senses you use the less it sticks. Incorporate movement, songs, and creative adventures in your lessons. Also, keep you classroom neat and organized with signs and pictures to where things should go for easy flow of lessons.The simpler and cleaner the better.

Behavior/Learning Accountability and Motivation: With CLASS DOJO

FREE! Walk around with your ipad as you teach to manage, correct and incorrect behaviors without saying a word or distracting learning. Has all teacher “go to tools” in the program. A way to group students, a timer, randomizer and can take photos and videos. Great as a class tracker.

Individualized and Differentiation Learning: With Quizlet

Quizlet is a great resource to use for fun and interactive study guides for all sorts of tests and quizzes. Have students choose how they learn in different ways and have fun learning your class content. Teachers, also can use other study guides made from other teachers to help with time or create inspiration for your student’s study guides. It is also a great online teacher community site.

Individualized Student paced assignments/homework anytime from any device: With PlayPostIt

FREE! Use any video on youtube and make it into an assignment/homework that kids will love! Students can log on to PlayPostIt using their Edmodo or Office 365 account. Teachers can pick any youtube video and create questions (multiple choice, short answer, essay) that will stop the video at the time periods that you like. It also has a support team on call anytime you need help setting something up.

Individualized student learning from any device: Youtube and ScreenCastify

FREE! Take a video of your computer screen” to create how to videos and assignments that students can view multiple times anywhere/anytime by posting on youtube.

Visulize and show step-by-step instruction: With SmartNotebook 16/Activeinspire Transparent Mode-FREE!

Show students how to write in their own notes over their book, handouts, and point out or write notes over a video or presentation. Use the transparent mode on these programs.

Go Beyond the classroom and into the world: With Skype

FREE! Use skype to have a masterclass with a guest speaker from anywhere around the world, have a presentation for the other class down the hall, and/or other classes from another school. Great for vertical alignment in seeing what older students are doing in your content area.

Teacher Organization Must Have: OneNote

Keep it all, share it with anyone, add it in from anywhere from any device using OneNote. The must have for today’s teacher. No need to have binders of lesson plans, documentations, professional development, parent logs or student documentation.

STUDENTS NEED TO BE MENTALLY EXAUSTED, BUT EXCITED when they leave your class every day. Students need to be moving, explaining, demonstrating, performing, figuring out problems and hands on almost 90% of the time while in your class.

Play videos of great masters in the field. Use YouTube as much as possible to show great masters of your content area.
