Handout 1: Differences within a single species

Two adult female Black tiger snakes (Notechis ater niger) were found on small islands off the South Australian coast.
The smaller snake was found on Roxby Island, a small island off the coast of the Eyre Peninsula and the larger found on East Franklin Island.
Scientists sampled both islands and recorded data of the length of adult tiger snakes, measured from snout to vent, length in millimetres. /
