PHYSICSNAME______
Quarter 2 Project Check
WHAT IS THE QUESTION YOU ARE GOING TO TEST?
CLEARLY EXPLAIN HOW YOU WILL EXPERIMENTALLY TEST YOUR QUESTION .
If you change your project idea, let Mr. Tischer know. Think about physics every day and night.

PHYSICS
QUARTER PROJECT INFORMATION SHEET
Each student in physics is expected to do twoquarter experiment/projects.
Guidelines for this project:
-Topic under investigation must relate to physics (forces, motion, energy, heat, sound, light, electricity, magnetism). It is strongly advised that you tell your project idea to Mr. Tischer before starting.
-Although you may use the help of others, you must do and turn in your own project.
-The written report must be written in the format described below. It should be as many pages as deemed fit for the experiment/project that you are working on.
-You must have a PowerPoint and present your experiment to the class (at least a few minutes long).
Due Dates:
-Quarter 1 project due Monday, January 12th, presentations will begin this day.
Quarter 1 Project Check Sheet due Dec. 19th
Grading:
-Each project will be worth 64 points and composes 10% of your quarter grade.
-Grading will be based on the following criteria:
- Written report follows guidelines and is written clearly and completely26pts
- Quality and thoroughness of experiment16 pts
- PowerPoint of experiment is complete and enhances the presentation10 pts
- Verbal presentation given to the class explains the details of the experiment12pts
Written Report Format:
Introduction: (Give at least one paragraph of background information on your topic.)
Question(s):(State your question(s) in clear concise sentences.)
Expectation:(State what you expect (or expected) to the answer of your question.)
Experiment: (Include all procedures, data, measurements, pictures of setup. Write this section so a
stranger could follow what you did. This section might be the longest part of you report.)
Analysis: (Include a breakdown of any calculations and post-experiment work.)
Results:(Sum up what you found in your experiment in a few sentences.)
