MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
As the Manager,under the Care Standards Act 2000, you will have responsibility for managing
Your service area and promoting the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1 To manage develop and review delivery and good practice to enable our clients to maximize
Their independence and other and Daily Living Skills. To enhance quality of life for clients and their families. Taking in to account current and future legislation, and the policies and procedures set out by Hafan Dementia Care, ensuring the delivery of a high qualityseven day and total service which is person centred and maintains the Dignity and Self Esteem of Clients and their Loved ones
2 To be Responsible for employee relations/recruitment selection/and induction of all staff to ensure through supervision and on-going training, continuous development of staff as required by Care Council for Wales
3 To effectively manage staffing levels and allocated resources using and developing management information systems to provide accurate analytical information as required by line management.
4 To oversee and control the Observation of Health and Safety legislation to promote a safe environment for Clients/ staff /visitors
5 To produce an Annual improvement plan using tools such as the CSSIW inspection report and Wales Strategy plan for Dementia Care and Quality Assurance Reports which will contribute

6 To be responsible for ensuring high standards within the physical environment, ensuring
Homely and comfortable surroundings and compliance with current legislation
7 To continue and develop inter agency collaboration enhancing the principles of partnership and joint working between Health Social Care and the Third Sector
8 To Develop Effective relationships with local communities, schools etc and encouraging volunteering
9 To be open and effectively manage the change process within the organization through vision and values that recognize the Aims and Philosophy of Care of Hafan Dementia Care
QUALIFICATIONS/ VOCATIONAL TRAINING ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE
AND COMPETENCIES
NVQ level 4 care
Essential / Desirable
NVQ 4 Care and ability to demonstrate continuous professional development
Substantial experience as practitioner relevant to the post in a relevant care setting
Two years experience in a managerial/ supervisory setting / 
Experience of managing a Health or Social Care facility.
Knowledge of current legislation relevant to the post / 
Experience and knowledge of the Voluntary Sector / 
Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative and able to make informed decisions / 
Ability to develop productive relationships with staff and families / carers / 
Experience of managing and supervising staff and the maintenance of staff records
Ability to motivate staff and direct an support the team / 
An understanding and knowledge of dementia / 
An understanding and knowledge of carers rights and carers issues / 
Management of care planning and risk assessments / 
A knowledge of Health and Social Care processes and procedures / 
Committed to developing quality services and ensuring high standards of care / 
Knowledge of performance management and ability to write reports and compile statistical returns / 
Knowledge of Health and Safety issues, to include environmental health, food and hygiene, etc / 
Ability to develop the services of Hafan Dementia Care / 
Ability to communicate with members of the multidisciplinary team / 
Ability to speak Welsh / 
