Job Purpose

To assist withresettlementof women who have exited the POPPY support scheme into the wider community within the UK.

To establish resettlement support for women who exit the scheme and return to their countries of origin.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Key work and Support

1.1 Conducting needs and risk assessments of service users and

individual support plans

1.2 The provision of information and support to resettlement service

users on issues such as NASS, housing, welfare, education,

health, welfare benefits, police investigations, court cases, asylum

claims, counselling, legal rights and childprotection.

1.3 The provision of advice to resettlement service users on issues

such as NASS housing, welfare, education, health, welfare

benefits, police investigations, court cases, asylum claims

and legal rights.

1.4 To identify agencies and individuals who provide appropriate

resettlement services in relation to housing, welfare,police

investigations, court cases, asylum claims, education,

health, welfare benefits, counselling and legal rights.

1.5 Advocating on behalf of women on issues such as NASS, housing,

welfare,police investigations, court cases, asylum claims,

education, health, welfare benefits, counselling, legal

rights, where appropriate.

1.6 Assisting women to make empowered and informed decisions.

1.7 Working in conjunction with and providing referral to the social

services around child protection issues.

1.8 Referral/ Application to Eaves Supported Housing Services team

where appropriate.

2.Service Development

2.1Liaising with relevant community and government groups and services.

2.2Facilitating workshops and groups offered to women living in the community.

2.3Educating the local public, media, police, social services and other organisations about the needs of women who have exited the scheme.

2.4Assisting in promoting of a legal and advice service within the local community.

2.5Contributing towards the development and implementation of polices and procedures of the Eaves Resettlement Service.

  1. Accommodation and Support

3.1 In conjunction with POPPY Senior Support Workers, to facilitate

meetings with women to develop progress and review support plans

which address her specific needs.

3.2 To develop and ensure user participation within Supported Housing

Services, including user participation groups and house meetings.

3.3 Maintaining appropriate records and statistics regarding resettlement.

3.4 Maintaining up to date knowledge on issue relevant to women on the

scheme including the asylum process welfare benefit entitlement re:

housing / homelessness processes.

3.5 Communicating regularly with Senior Support and Supported Housing

Service team members.

3.6 Maintaining basic financial and administrative systems.

3.7 To participate in the daily office duty rota, dealing with new referrals to

the project

3.8 To participate in the out of hours service on call rota.
