Employment Support Worker

Salary: £21450 pro rata

Hours:22.5 hours per week based in Letchworth with travel around the county

Job Purpose

To coordinate and deliver employment support for clients with an acquired brain injury who are ready to engage with volunteering, study or employment.

Main responsibilities

  1. Identification of suitable participants.
  1. Establishing a rapport and working relationship with suitable clients
  1. Gathering monitoring and evaluation information for the HABIT Plus programme.
  1. When necessary assist OT with assessment and reviews of HABIT clients and new ABI work ready candidates
  1. Where appropriate and with assistance from OT and volunteers, deliver activities to meet individual client goals. These could include:
  • Basic skills training
  • Identification of suitable job roles
  • CV completion
  • Job applications—including on line applications
  • Interview techniques
  • Identification of suitable opportunities: paid work, voluntary work and training
  • Assistance with preparation for application to specific opportunities
  1. Identification and relationship building with local providers of job related functions and negotiating provision where necessary e.g. Job Centre Plus, Right Directions, Local Employment Partnerships( job specific training with specific employer)
  1. Promotion of the HABIT PLUS programme and of Headway Hertfordshire.
  1. Provision of accurate and timely monthly performance reports and input into annual reports.
  1. Attendance and shared lead of monthly review meetings for clients and project.
  1. To plan and deliver 3 employment workshops each year.
  1. To support up to 20 clients each year to access the COGMED on line learning programme.
  1. To manage volunteers where appropriate, carry out supervision sessions and ensuring quality is maintained in support offered by Headway.
  1. To attend relevant meetings with other organisations and represent Headway Hertfordshire in a professional, positive and supportive way.
  1. To ensure personal and professional development by keeping up-to-date with legislation, internal and external practices, policies and procedures relevant to role.
  1. Any other duties appropriate to assisting colleagues in the smooth running of HH.
