Habasit combines energy savings with top performance
Habasit tangential belts are designed to cut power consumption to a minimum. Our polyester power transmission belts, such as the optimized TC-20/25EF and the new TC Quantum Leap types (TCxxQ), deliver high-performance yarn processing while consuming up to 6% less power compared with conventional polyamide products. Compared with competitors’ PA-belts, the savings can reach up to 12%. Depending on local energy costs, this means annual savings of 1 to 2 USD for each spindle, which in turn can result in savings of up to 200,000 USD a year for a spinning mill with 100,000 spindles. Plus excellent yarn quality and maximum machine output.
The new TL- power transmission belts of Habasit with innovative foamed TPU covers (patent pending) are particularly suitable for medium-class driving belt applications for yarn processing. The polyester based traction layers offer outstanding dimensional stability during entire belt life. The belts provide a user-friendly adhesive-free joining system. They combine outstanding surface durability and grip consistency with reliable and consistent power transmission and long belt life. The TL- power transmission belts represent an attractive medium segment solution with a best-in-class price/value ratio.
The new polyester spindle tape DS-8 of Habasit has a lower bending resistance that saves up to 8 % of ring frame motor energy consumption, leading to savings of up to 1 USD per spindle and year. The potential cost-savings for an entire production site driven by Habasit products are enormous.
Peripheral equipment (including fans, compressors, vacuum pumps, and blowers, etc.) and plant infrastructure also benefit from Habasit’s optimized driving belt solutions.
Conversion campaigns at over 2000 sites have demonstrated that conversion from V-belts to Habasit’s polyester-based TC flat belts results in energy consumption reductions of 4 % to 6 %.
