Center for the Visually Impaired Welcomes New Trustees
Companies Represented Include Bank of America,

Atlanta, GA –The Center for theVisually Impaired (CVI) announced the election of sixnew board members: Bryan Alli,Bank of America;Michael Brown, Gilbane Inc.; Julie Schoen Hower, Deloitte and Touche, Chanel Johnson, AirTran Airways;Ashley Koby, Southern Company; andDr. Michael Roach, Eye Consultants of Atlanta.
Bryan Allihas been with Bank of America for nine years and currently manages the bank’s Consumer Technology organization’s global workforce program which contains over 7,000 resources across the U.S., Latin America and India. His professional experience also includes work with Ernst & Young, AT&T, Sprint and Johnson & Johnson.
Michael Brownis Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of the Southeast Regional Office in Atlanta for Gilbane Inc., a full-service construction and real estate development company. Michael has more than 25 years of construction experience, and has been involved in pre-construction, construction and startup of many complex projects across various market segments including education, government, telecommunications and retail.
Julie Schoen Howeris a Senior Manager with Deloitte and Touche. She manages a team of 25+ individuals in performing analysis procedures for more than 100 external audit engagements in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and Virginia. Julie became interested in CVI because her mother has vision loss, and she has been a volunteer at the Center for the last three years.
Since 2007,Chanel Johnsonhas served as Manager of Customer Relations for AirTran Airways in Atlanta, organizing communication and performance of more than 50 crew members in three calls centers and 15 virtual locations. Chanel began working with AirTran in 1995 and has consistently been promoted through the ranks.
Ashley Kobyhas spent his career in the energy industry at the Southern Company and is currently the Georgia Control Center Manager. He is responsible for operating the Integrated Transmission System and providing daily management, support and leadership to the Power System Coordinators.
Dr. Michael Roach, a partner at Eye Consultants of Atlanta, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with a surgical focus on cataract and lens implant surgery. Michael is the team ophthalmologist for both the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons, and he volunteers for ChildSpring International and the Good Samaritan Health Center.
