Louth Senior Track & Field Championships
An athlete will be selected from the performances at the County championships, the Deirdre McGrath Perpetual Trophy will be presented at the Annual Awards Night on 17th November 2017

There will be an annual award for the best overall athlete in the following categories,
(clubs to nominate an athlete for each category)

An annual award will be presented for the best overall GIRL AND BOY in
(1) Track and Field 4 CATEGORIES
Best Female athlete in age groupunder 9 to under 11
Best Female athlete in age groupunder 12 to under 14
Best Female athlete in age group under 15 & under 16
Best Female athlete in age group under 17 to under 19
Best Male athlete in age group under 9 to under 11
Best Male athlete in age group under 12 to under 14
Best Male athlete in age group under 15 & under 16
Best Male athlete in age group under 17 to under 19
(2) Cross Country 3 CATEGORIES
Best Female athlete in age groupunder 9 to under 11
Best Female athlete in age group under 12 to under 14
Best Female athlete in age group under 15 to under 19
Best Male athlete in age group under 9 to under 11
Best Male athlete in age group under 12 to under 14
Best Male athlete in age group under 15 to under 19
The system will be points based, with the winner having the most points
Scoring as follows for AAI sanctioned Events in the County
1st 4 points
2nd 3 points
3rd 2 points
4th 1 point
Scoring as follows for County Championships
1st 5 points
2nd 4 points
3rd 3 points

In the event of a dead heat in a competition, (for example a sprint) if there are two 1st places, the points from 1st and 2nd are added and divided between both, i.e.: 4.5 points each. Similar to be applied for joint 2nd or 3rd etc.
If at the end of the scoring there may be a joint winner, then consideration to be given to

Each club may submit only one athlete name per category ie Boys under 11
Closing date for submission of nominations November 1st 2017
Clubs must submit athletes qualifying events to
Host clubs must submit results of their event to Georgina Drumm and only those received from the host club will be used in the process
All nominations will be reviewed by Chair, Secretary and Georgina Drumm. Their decision is final.
