Guidelines For Submitting Instruction Course For Drishti 2016
LAST DATE FOR IC ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: 30TH APRIL 2016
As Chief Instructor, each ratified KSOS member residing and practicing in Kerala can submit ONE INSTRUCTION COURSE only.
The duration of ALL the ICs will be 55 minutes with 5 minutes change over time between sessions. The chief instructor must ensure that the session finishes exactly ontime and does not spill over to the changeover time.
Always mention your KSOS Membership number and Instruction Course Number in all your future correspondence.
Clearly mention if instructor is not an Ophthalmologist. Non-Ophthalmologists are also welcome as programme participants.
Change of Instructors/title/topics/duration is NOT possible once the course has been submitted. The maximum number of Co-instructors allowed for any course is five per awarded course.
Type the author and co-authors names exactly as they appear in the KSOS records.
All communications from the Scientific Committee will be ONLY BY MAIL. No communication will be sent by post. Hence, ensure that you have entered Email ID, which you and your co-instructors are regularly accessing.
After successful online submission you will get an acknowledgement. If you don’t receive any acknowledgment, it means the submission is NOT successful. In that case please resubmit.
As a policy, we do not allow any change in presenters/authors. In cases of any unavoidable circumstances, for any change written permission should be obtained atleast 2 months before the conference from the Chairman, Scientific Committee, by the chief instructor.
Understanding and compliance with Society Policies: By your submission it is understood that the Society holds copyright on all abstracts printed in the preliminary and final programme and the material presented at the conference and that you permit the Society to copy and reproduce the material in any form for distribution and sale if felt necessary
Permission to record: The Society will record presentations and discussions at the Annual Meetings. By our submission it is understood that you give the Society permission to record your presentation. Videos may be copied in toto and become the property of the KSOS and may be made available for purchase.
Absence without intimation: After accepting to be a Chairman, Co-chairman, Convener, Moderator, Judge or speaker in a particular session absenting yourself without valid reason and intimation to the Scientific Committee will be viewed most seriously. KSOS executives can consider actions including debarring for 3 years for absence without intimation.
Presence at sessions for the complete duration: Every speaker & faculty member is expected to be present throughout the duration of their session for any interaction with the audience. If there is any unavoidable commitment they are expected to leave only with the permission of the Chairperson of that session.

COURSE TITLE (100 CHARACTERS ONLY)
Type the course title exactly as you wish it to be printed in Scientific Programme.
LEVEL OF COURSE
Indicate the appropriate level: Advanced, Intermediate, And Basic.
Select one group of subspecialty - Cataract, Cornea, Refractive surgery, Retina and vitreous, Uvea and Inflammations, Glaucoma, Orbit and Oculoplasty, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Imaging, Neuro Ophthalmology, community ophthalmology, Trauma, Comprehensive ophthalmology, Optics and Refraction, Miscellaneous
COURSE SYNOPSIS (1000 CHARACTERS ONLY)
Instruction Course Synopsis should not exceed 1000 characters.

CHIEF INSTRUCTOR’S RESUME (600 CHARACTERS ONLY): Ensure the Chief Instructor’s resume is relevant to the Instruction course submitted and is complete.
THE DECISION OF THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE WILL BE FINAL. KSOS SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE HAS THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE FINAL PROGRAM AT ANY STAGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. ALSO SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE CAN REQUEST FOR ANY CHANGE IN THE SUBMITTED IC TO SUITE THE CONFERENCE SCHEDULE AND PROGRAMMES BEFORE ACCEPTING FINALLY.
