Guidelines for Creative Piece

Remember: You must thoroughly explain the connection between your creative piece and your novel in the first paragraph of your analysis paper. Your creative piece should represent multiple aspects of your novel, proving you have read the whole novel!

Due Date: ______with your Quote and Analysis Paper

 Collage: Should be AT LEAST 8.5x11 and covered in a wide variety of images and/or words that demonstrate your extensive knowledge of the novel. You may use images printed off the computer and cut/pasted together, or magazines. Nothing done ON the computer! Must include brief description of significance for at least 10 items/words.

 Song: Written and performed by you – recording or live – with original lyrics to turn in.

 Poetry Booklet: Should contain a minimum of 8 poems that connect with elements of the novel. Of these 8, you must personally write at least 2 long poems or 3 shorter poems. It must have a hand-decorated cover.

 Photo Story: Minimum of 12 photos taken by you and put together in a booklet to tell the story of your novel.

 Soundtrack: Minimum of 12 songs chosen to illustrate details about the plot or characters in your novel. You must have an originally designed cover (nothing done on the computer), a list of songs with lyrics, and a brief explanation of why each song was chosen. All songs must be school-appropriate. You do not have to burn an actual CD.

Playbill Design: Should break down the scenes into short summaries, have an originally designed cover, and have a hand-chosen cast of characters (actors or BC students/staff).

 T-Shirt Design: You must actually make the t-shirt and the design must demonstrate knowledge of multiple aspects of the text.

Character Scrapbook or Memento Box: Should contain a minimum of 8 items (preferably 10) – 5 of these must be personally created by you. The scrapbook or box design should match the character and the items reflect details from the novel. Each item should be accompanied by a brief description of its significance.

Cartoon or Children’s Book: Must present an abridged storyboard of the entire novel, and be hand-drawn.

Drawing, painting, sculpture, shadow box, power point presentation, movie, mobile, board game: Any of these choices must illustrate multiple aspects of the novel, focusing on more than one detail and showing your extensive knowledge of your reading. (For example, I shouldn’t just see a sculpture of a dragon for Eragon or a painting of a vampire for Twilight.)
