Guidelines for Adhesive Dentistry

Guidelines for Adhesive Dentistry

Guidelines for Adhesive Dentistry

Antonio Cerutti, Francesco Mangani, Angelo Putignano

The book, which is the result of collaboration between the University of Rome - Tor Vergata, the University of Brescia and the Polytechnic University of the Marche, is proposed as an effective tool for learning modern techniques in the realm of Restorative Dentistry and subjects connected with it.

The presentation of the various subjects makes use of films and interactive 3D graphic reconstructions, all accompanied by speak-overs.

The audio-visual material allows a personal approach to the contents thanks to the possibility of skipping freely between the various phases of the reconstructions and analysing them in the tiniest detail. The 3D reconstructions are a faithful reproduction of real situations, with the advantage of being able to focus on certain elements and of using a whole series of graphic tricks, including being able to explore the scene at 360°.

Content

Introduction to dental anatomy

The morphology of individual dental elements and relations between the illustrated with interactive 3D models

that can be viewed at 360°, which allow the reader to analyse all anatomic details closely.

Aetiology of damage to hard dental tissue

Decay damage interpreted as a dynamic process of gradual, progressive loss of healthy dental tissue with special

attention paid to the mechanisms and the development of the damage to the dental surface. An illustration of the traditional (Black) and the more recent (Si/Sta) classification of decay damage will be shown below.

Isolation of operating field

Isolation of the operating field as an indispensable requirement for adhesive procedures. The materials and procedures are

viewed in 3D films to obtain a rapid, practical use in any clinical situation.

Dental-enamel adhesion

The use of adhesive techniques requires the dental surgeon to know physical principles that are at the basis of conditioning dental substrata and the correct application of adhesive systems.

All the concepts have been included in 3D films with the aim of providing a joint view of the adhesive phenomena and of guiding the operator during the clinical phases.

Operational procedures

The clinical phases of real cases have been integrated with the 3D viewing that shows the application of clinical protocol in all operational procedures on both vital and non-vital elements.
