During Reading
Students will “whisper” read the text while Teacher listens for fluency. Teacher may conduct a mini-lesson on decoding strategies (reread and think about what would make sense, cover (or attend to) the ending, use analogies, chunk big words) or Fluency and phrasing strategies (phrasing, attend to bold words, dialogue, intonation, expression). Ask students to retell to check comprehension.
