OF GUILDFORD BOROUGH

(As at 8 July 2011)

There are no fundamental changes expected at present to services in these areas that are not listed below except possibly timing adjustments. Detailed timetables for all services are still being finalised but it is hoped they will be available on our website -www.surreycc.gov.uk/buses by mid to late August. There will be no change of operator unless stated.

Provides much-enhanced level of service for the residential areas around Bain Avenue, Ansell Road Estate, Worsley Road and Paddock Hill, giving wider travel opportunities from those areas. Includes link from Deepcut to Tomlinscote School currently included in service 35.

Service 28

Guildford-Worplesdon-Pirbright-Brookwood-Knaphill Sainsburys-Knaphill-Goldsworth Park-Horsell-Woking

Will continue to run generally once per hour between Guildford and Woking but withdrawn from Goldsworth Park and Horsell and diverted instead between Knaphill and Woking via Victoria Road, Raglan Road, St. Johns, St. Johns Hill Road, Star Hill, Triggs Lane and Goldsworth Road, to replace service 48. Also diverted to/from Pirbright Camp to replace service 48, giving a new direct link from there to Guildford. One afternoon journey will continue to start at Woking High School and run via Goldsworth Park. Evening journeys from Woking to Horsell will be withdrawn except for the 1930 hrs journey from Woking Station.

Service 34

Guildford-Jacobs Well-Sutton Green-Westfield-Kingfield Green-Woking-St. Johns-Knaphill-Knaphill Sainsburys-Bisley-West End-Lightwater-Bagshot-Camberley

Service 35

Guildford-Mayford-Egley Road-York Road-Woking-St. Johns-Knaphill-Knaphill Sainsburys-Bisley-West End-Lightwater-Macdonald Road-Deepcut-Frimley Green-Frimley-Frimley Park Hospital-Portsmouth Road-Camberley

The route and general level of service on route 34 will be unchanged, with retention of evening and Sunday services. There will be some timetable changes, including additional journeys from Woking Station to St. Johns at 2030, 2130 and 2230 hrs. In conjunction with service 35, four buses per hour will still be provided on Mondays to Saturdays between Woking and Lightwater and three buses per hour between Woking and Guildford. Beyond Lightwater, to Camberley, service 34 will still provide two buses per hour.

On service 35, the level of service between Guildford and Lightwater will be largely unchanged. However, it will be withdrawn from the section of route between Lightwater (Briar Avenue) and Camberley. Alternative links to Camberley (and Frimley Park Hospital) will be available from Deepcut on new service 11 and from Frimley Green on existing service 3. Service 34 will continue to link Lightwater with Camberley and service 500 with Frimley Park Hospital. Deepcut will still be linked to Woking by service 48. Also, service 35 will be diverted via Hermitage Estate in St. Johns, replacing the 48, giving that area an enhanced half-hourly service into Woking and on to Guildford.

However, until the road at Elm Bridge, Kingfield Green re-opens in Autumn 2011, the 34/35 will continue to be diverted between Sutton Green and Woking via Mayford and the special shuttle service 234 will run from Kingfield Green to Mayford and Woking.

Service 39

Chobham-Swallow Rise-Knaphill Sainsburys-Knaphill-Victoria Road-Bingham Drive-Nottingham Court-Goldsworth Park-Woking

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, there will be two journeys each way, including a diversion into the Woking Morrisons store. Goldsworth Park will not be served but the bus will serve St. Johns Hill Road and Star Hill, replacing Accessbus service 601.

On Thursdays there will be one round trip into Woking from Hermitage Estate, Bingham Drive, Nottingham Court and Brockhill in Goldsworth Park. The bus will also offer a round trip from Claydon Road, Bullbeggars Lane and Bridge Court in Horsell, both of these facilities replacing Accessbus service 601 and also serving Morrisons store. There will be no service on Tuesdays.

Service 39 will be operated by Abellio Surrey with a similar vehicle as they run on existing Accessbus service 601.

Service 47

West End-Bisley-Brookwood Station

Will basically continue in its existing form (morning and evening commuting period) but with evening departures from Brookwood re-timed to better match the arrival of the faster trains from Waterloo.

Service 48

Woking-Star Hill-St. Johns-Hermitage Estate-Knaphill-Knaphill Sainsburys-Brookwood-Pirbright Camp-Deepcut-Frimley Green-Mytchett-Farnborough

This service will be fundamentally different and will run on Mondays to Fridays only: Woking-Brewery Road-Horsell-Littlewick Road-Knaphill-“Garibaldi”-Knaphill Sainsburys-Brookwood-Frimley Green-Deepcut-Maultway-Heatherside-Chobham Road-Frimley Park Hospital. For most of the day it will run every two hours. At commuting times the bus will provide a new “Rail Link” service, with two morning journeys from Deepcut to Brookwood Station, timed for trains to/from Waterloo and with four journeys back between 1700 and 1920 hrs. One morning journey will run via Goldsworth Park to link with Horsell for Woking High School, replacing a journey on Arriva service 134.

To replace existing facilities on route 48, the Star Hill and St. Johns area will be covered by service 28, Hermitage Estate by service 35 and Pirbright Camp by service 28. New service 11 will provide the link between Deepcut, Frimley Green, Mytchett and Farnborough.

Service 48 will be operated by Dickson Travel.

Services 462/463

Woking-Kingfield Green-Rydens Way-Old Woking-Send-Sendmarsh-Burnt Common-Burpham (462)-West Clandon-Merrow (463)-Guildford

The normal route for these services between Woking and Kingfield Green is not now expected to be available until Autumn 2011, on completion of the works at Elm Bridge. When that occurs, the overall generally hourly service between Woking and Guildford will be maintained, operated by Arriva, with services 462 and 463 each running every two hours. Coverage of Ripley will be re-instated on these services, allowing route 562 to be withdrawn. George Abbot and St. Peter’s Schools will continue to be served at the appropriate times and there will also be links to Woking High School and Bishop David Brown School.

However, until such time as the bridge opens, the 462/463 will continue with a temporary timetable, operated by Arriva, diverting between Kingfield Green and Woking via Mayford and not serving Ripley. Ripley will continue to be temporarily covered by Arriva service 562, but with timetable changes.

Service 500

Staines-Egham-Sunningdale-Windlesham-Lightwater-Bagshot-London Road-Camberley-Frimley Park Hospital

Two buses will be used to maintain this service as listed above on a generally two-hourly interval. On Mondays to Fridays, the first arrival in Camberley will be at 0850 hrs and the last departure from Camberley will be at 1715 hrs. The first arrival at Staines will be 0850 hrs and the last departure at 1740 hrs. Connaught School in Bagshot and Charters School at Sunningdale will be served at the appropriate times. Buses to/from Sunningdale Station for train connections (serving Bagshot, Lightwater and Windlesham) will be maintained, with two journeys in the morning commuting period and three back in the evening, at 1745, 1820 and 1900 hrs. On Saturdays, the current timetable will continue. Service 500 will maintain a direct link between Lightwater and Frimley Park Hospital to replace service 35.

Service 502

Camberley-Bain Avenue-Frimley-Ansell Road Estate-Worsley Road-Paddock Hill Estate-Tomlins Avenue

This infrequent service will be withdrawn and replaced by new service 11.

Service 562
