A: OVERALL PURPOSE

Develop strong relationships with potential collaborative partners from both the statutory and voluntary sectors. To understand and advise how the services of these agencies interrelate and interact, and how, through collaborative working, they can be provided in a more efficient and effective way to improve mobility for blind and partially sighted people, which will include tender submissions for work. Carry out campaigning and lobbying in the mobility team areas to support Guide Dogs' corporate strategy. To support the Mobility Team Manager to ensure the stakeholder experience and journey is managed in line with the Guide Dogs brand. To identify supporter opportunities which can be developed by the appropriate mobility team members. Deliver agreed business plans and monitor the effectiveness and impact on the community.

1 / Planning - Develop and deliver communications plans to target and engage new stakeholders (service users, supporters, donors and advocates) within the Mobility Team area for the full range of Guide Dogs services, in line with the organisation wide Stakeholder Engagement strategy. Develop and plan local campaigns and lobbying to support Guide Dogs national campaigns. Develop and plan activity to promote and deliver mobility services / 20%
2 / Customer relations/ Developing the service / deliver the service - Work with the Mobility Team Manager to ensure the stakeholder experience and journey is managed and reflects the Guide Dogs’ brand. Develop relationships with key actual and potential collaborative partners in the area to ensure Guide Dogs can deliver its strategy, including all relevant organisations from both the statutory and voluntary sectors. Map and keep permanently updated commissioners of services and actual and potential collaborative partners from both the statutory and voluntary sectors. To work in collaboration with the “National CYP Services manager” to identify, generate and develop mobility services, including tender submissions for work. / 30%
3 / Quality assurance: Monitor and review - Work with the Mobility Team Manager to monitor the effectiveness of the delivery plan and the impact to the community, initiating the development of improvements at a local level / 10%
4 / Communications /Media relations - Be a key spokesperson on behalf of Guide Dogs to national and local media within your respective area. Build strong and on-going relationships with journalists through proactive and reactive media relations, including dealing with issues and crises that are a risk to the organisation’s reputation. Provide media training and develop communication skills to staff and volunteers within your area and ensure they are adequately briefed for media interviews. Work across departments and functions both at Central Office and within your area, to ensure that Guide Dogs print and online communication channels are up-to-date / 25%
5 / Diversity - Support and deliver Guide Dogs’ diversity agenda in the Mobility Team area / 5%
6 / Income generation - Work with the Mobility Team Manager to identify the commercial and financial opportunities of the area in terms of costs, control and productivity levels. / 5%
