Sophomores Parents:We are needing chaperones for the Apple Festival stand. We are needing one chaperone for each shift. On Friday shifts begin at 3:30 and are two hours long. Please let your student know if you can work or feel free to contact Mr. Apps or Mrs. Evans.

Apple Festival Cake and Cookie auctionwill be onSaturdayevening, Sept 21st. Cookie baskets must have at least 3 dozen cookies ! The Griggsville Apple Festival is looking for entries for the Kiddie Parade. This event is open to all children birth-4th grade. The parade will be held onSeptember 21st at 10:15am. Registration will begin at9:45and judging begins at10am. Categories are as follows: wagons and buggies, floats, bikes and trikes, and costumes and pets. Motorized vehicles are NOT allowed. All themes are welcomed this year, including 1950's television, the Apple Festival Theme. Each category will be judged as 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and one overall winner will be awarded. The 2013-2014 K-4thGrade Title I Family Night will be held today at CountyMarket in Pittsfield. From 3:30 – 7:00 p.m. students, who are accompanied by a parent, can come in and take part in a Math scavenger Hunt. Each grade will be given a different age appropriate set of tasks that involve everyday math skills. (How many apples does it take to weigh 2 lbs., etc) After completing the Scavenger Hunt, students put their name in a drawing for individual prizes. CountyMarket will also award G-P Elementary prizes according to the number of participants. Prizes will be announced at a later date. This is a fun way to help students see how Math is used in every day like, and a good way for you, as parents, to help in your student’s education.

Sports:

We are scheduled to play volleyball in Greenfield onMonday, Sept. 30. That game will NOT be held in Greenfield, but will be played at Palmyra-NorthwesternHigh School.

We will also be having a "C" game that is like a freshman game (or for your freshman and sophomores who rarely get playing time. That game will start at5:15. The bus will leave at3:30.

Today:

Freshman football will play at Beardstown at 6:00.

Lady Tornadoes volleyball at home against Routt at 6:00. Kayt Risley is ticket taker and sophomores have concessions.

Saturday:

Lady Eagles play in the Sectional game at Liberty at1:00p.m.against the Payson Lady Indians.

PGP football will play at Bunker Hill at 1:00.

Griggsville-Perry Schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m., Friday, September 20th, for School Improvement or SIP. The shuttle bus bell will ring at 12:15 p.m.

TheLady Eagles will play in the Sectional game at Liberty at1:00p.m. Saturday, September 21, against the Payson Lady Indians.

BASKETBALL INFORMATION

Coach White will be meeting with students during their recess timetomorrow(Friday-September 20th) who are interested in playing boy's basketball this year.

Sixth through eighth grade girls interested in playing basketball need to sign up in the office.

Open Gym for those playing girls basketball not currently involved in softball on Wednesday and Thursday this week. You must have a physical and insurance waiver on file before.

Eagles in Action this week is Lane Spencer. Others nominated: Duncan Bradshaw and Trinity Schaaf. Way to go!

Softball and baseball pictures will be taken on September 24thstarting at 1:00 p.m. Packets and more info to follow.
