All rings start at 8.30 am Sunday and Monday

The following rules and regulations as well as those at the front of the schedule, apply:

  1. Horse competitors must pay gate admission charges or be a financial member of the Griffith Show Society. Competitors must be wearing wrist bands. These will be given at the time of paying the gate entrance fee.
  2. All entries in the horse ring events are to be post entries by ticket. Tickets are on sale at the ring office. Every horse and rider must have a ticket and this applies to pairs and threes.
  3. Show Jumping – as per Schedule.
  4. Team Events - $3.00 per team.
  5. Other events - $3.00 per event.
  6. Griffith Show Society (Inc) will not be responsible for any damages or accidents caused by any horse during the duration of the show.
  7. Every competitor or spectator who enters the arena must sign an indemnity and waiver form.
  8. The Indemnity Waiver is in the back of this schedule OR available at the ticket office.
  9. If the competitor is the holder of an approved EA or Horse Council of NSW Indemnity Card they are not required to sign the form. They ARE required to show their card.
  10. Competitors must have signed the waiver and have horse number. Failure to complete forms will lead to disqualification or results not being recognized. Griffith Show Society used standard indemnity forms and animal declaration forms. These forms can be downloaded from the ASC website and filled out prior to leaving for show. NB: Competitors numbers require a $5.00refundable deposit.
  11. All exhibitors must provide a Pic Number before they can compete.
  12. All riders compete at their own risk.
  13. All performances at the current Griffith Show will be registered with the RAS Sydney.
  14. Stallions are not eligible for Hack events. All stallions and colts over 12 months of age must be shown in a bit.
  15. All stallions & colts: Must conform to the ASC and EA guidelines. Details can be found at their various official websites. Stallions entering the arena must be under the control of an experienced handler or rider, 18 years or over.
  16. All exhibitors exhibiting in breed classes must carry registration papers and must be current financial members of the relevant society or association and must be able to produce them on request.
  17. Hoses ages to be calculated from the 1st of August. Age of rider is actual age on the day of event.
  18. “Local” shall be residents of the Griffith City Council or within a radius of 30 klms of the Griffith Post Office.
  19. A local horse must have been owned and located in the local area for at least 3 months before the show.
  20. A novice horse is a horse that has not won a first prize at any agricultural or recognised Breed show in a similar event.
  21. An intermediate horse is a horse that has not won at a Royal Show.
  22. All competitors must be suitably attired in all events, including led classes.
  23. Any pony, Galloway or hack awarded a champion in Ring 1 is ineligible to compete in Ring 2 and vice versa.
  24. There needs to be a minimum of three (3) competitors for a class to be split or for a class to be added.ALL riders must wear approved safety helmet to the current Australian standard, whilst competing and exercising. NO OTHER HEAD GEAR WILL BE PERMITTED.
  25. Competitors must decide if their horse is a Show Horse OR a Show Hunter. You CANNOT compete in both categories.
  26. Prize money. All prize money for Ring Events and Clydesdales are to be paid on presentation of awards. Jumping prize money is paid at the Main Show Office. Prize Money unless otherwise states:

  1. Every endeavour has been made to avoid the clashes of events. Events will NOT be held up. It is the responsibility of the competitor to be on time and to have made a choice of event. Competitors may not enter a class after the judging has commenced.
  2. The Ringmaster’s decision is final. Notwithstanding any appeals procedure is available on payment of $50 refundable deposit if successful. The appeal must be lodge within 30 minutes of disputation.
  3. Stewards have the right to prohibit from entering any horse or rider they consider unfit to compete. Competitors cannot leave ring before judging is completed. Competitors cannot cross from one ring to another before judging is finalised.
  4. Camping & Stable Bookings
  5. Stables are available at $5.00 per stable per day. A $20.00 deposit for stable cleaning fee is applicable. If stables are left clean, the deposit will be refunded.
  6. Camping fee of $6 per person per night applies for the nights from Thursday 3rd October 2013 to Wednesday 9th October 2013. Normal Showground camping fees apply outside these dates. . Complete the No refunds 4 days from show date state.
  7. Stables and camping can be booked by completing the booking form attached to this Schedule.
  8. Approval and position of electric fence must be obtained from the Ring Master or Stable Steward. After approval can be erected but NOT powered.
  9. Improper behaviour – Outside assistance to competitors by word of mouth, radio or any other method in ring events will not be permitted. Any competitor and their exhibits found to be in breaching this ruling will be dismissed from the event and the showground and WILL be reported to the ASC.
  10. The committee may alter the program without notice if necessary.
  11. Drug testing may be carried out at this Show. Any competitor found to have breached the ASC Disputes and Disciplinary regulations will be invested by the ASC Disciplinary Committee. All disciplinary action taken by ASCC or RAS or affiliated bodies will be supported by the Griffith Show Society Inc.
  12. The main arena, except for jumping area will be open for exercise of horses on the morning of the show until 8:30 am.
  13. No horses are allowed onto the arena after 9.00 unless approved by the Ringmaster or are competing in a Class.

SHOW JUMPING

STEWARD:

Conducted under EA Rules

GNERAL RULES:

All competitors must wear a coat – Summer dress will apply – subject to weather conditions.

Whips must not be weighted nor will they exceed 75 cm (30”) in lengthy over all. No substitute for a whip will be carried in any competition or in the practice area. Any breach of this rule will carry the penalty of disqualification.

Spurs other than dummy spurs are to be taped.

In the event of an excess of competitors in any event the committee reserves the right to limit the amount of rides to each competitor. The number not being less than two (2) . Rider notice will be given to the draw being made so that riders may nominate the desired horses.

Under penalty of elimination practice fences can only be jumped in the correct manner.

Flags will be used.
