A Message from your State Rep

Good morning MINNESOTA cake decorators!!!....(at least it is morning as I begin this communication. I can hardly believe we are in the year 2008 and we’re looking at our MN ICES Spring Day of Sharing coming up in just a few weeks. Time seems to be going so fast, even though the winter has been hard and long. Spring is just around the corner and with that being said we will do just that, SPRING into a welcome time of the year for all of us. Those subzero days have been happening way too often. I heard just this week we’ve had 26 days below zero already this winter. I guess it shows just how hearty we are, or something like that, (just leave it at that if you have other thoughts). 

The theme for our Spring DOS will be, SPRING. That is such a welcome sight and time for all of us as it is the time and new signs of life all around us. It is always so refreshing to see the plants and flowers breaking through and all of the trees begin to bud and form their beauty.

Our DOS will be held at the Eastwood Golf Course in Rochester, MN. Directions to the golf course are included in this newsletter. Do not use map quest as the directions are incorrect. We have a very exciting day planned for you and you will not want to miss it. Bring a friend and let’s show them the spirit of MN cake decorators and how much fun we have when we get together. In doing so I’ve experienced that we “tap into” so much more talent and gain more friends as well. Remember we had 6 first timers at the fall day of sharing. Let’s see if we can top that number and continue to grow our MN membership.

Joe

Remember we now have a website. There have been updates. Be sure to check it out and we will continue to update it with news, pictures, dates, events and more. 

SPRING 2008 – Election time in MN ICES

As spring is a time of refreshing, new growth, and new life, I also want to make you aware that it is also the time for MN to nominate & vote in new officers for the upcoming 2 year term.
It has been a pleasure and honor of mine to serve the MN ICES Chapter for the last 4 years as alternate and state rep. However I do want to step aside giving others the same opportunity to serve and be a leader as well. My term ends July 2008 during the ICES convention being held in Orlando. THANKS….Joe
