Mr. Ayres--Room 118
8 Orange Team
Greetings parents and guardians,
Welcome to a new school year and to the eight orange team! I hope you and your student had a refreshing and relaxing summer. I am very excited to be teaching your student this year. In the America’s Past course this year, your studentwill have the opportunity to explore the history and heritage of the United States from Early American, Colonial, and Post Civil War history. In addition to learning about the early history of America, your student will also have the opportunity to learn about the United States’ major geographic characteristics. My goal this year will be to help your student to further develop his or her reading and critical thinking skills. We will meet this goal by using vocabulary development strategies, various projects, group work, and other classroom activities. Your student will also learn beneficial study skills, test taking skills, and research skills that will be used in eighth grade and beyond.
The Teachers of the 8 orange team strive to provide a safe and orderly classroom environment that is conducive to learning. In order to make sure that my classroom is a safe and fun learning environment,I expect my students to maintain excellent behavior by following four simple rules while in my classroom. These rules include:
(1) Be in class on time
(2) Keep hands, feet, and belongings to yourself
(3) Follow directions the first time given
(4) Respect others
I feel these rules will help to make our classroom a warm and inviting environment for learning. If the need arises to add any other rules, I will do so. However, I firmly believe if all students follow these few, simple rules they will have and enjoyable and successful year in World Cultures!Additional classroom policies and procedures can be found on the reverse side.
